Provenance: The twelve setting Steuben set was purchased by Alice Francis Brown around 1917/1918 and she used for entertaining at their family estate "Spring Green" in Rhode Island. Her grandfather was John Brown Francis Governor of Rhode Island who also lived on the family estate which was purchased by his grandfather John Brown in late 1700s. John Brown was a merchant in Providence in the 1700s and founded Brown University with his brother Nicolas. Consignor's father still lives on the estate and is up kept in my family today making it one of the oldest estates in the country. - Additional images of each grouping are available upon request

A large and exceptionally rare flared Mahogany Irish George IV Cellarette stamped by Mack Williams & Gibton. Complete wth origional wooden lining for wine bottle storage. It is very unusual to find stamped furtiture from this illustrious Dublin furniture firm. The firm of Mack, Williams and Gibton were established at 39 Stafford Street, Dublin and were appointed Upholsterer's and cabinet makers to his Majesty, His Excellency the Lord Lieutenant and his Majesty's Board of Works. After the death of John Mack in 1829, the firm continued his trade as Williams and Gibton, (1830-1844). They supplied some of the most improtant public buildings in Ireland, including the four courts, the War Office, The Barracks Office, Dublin Castle, the Chapel Royal and the Treasury and Viceregal Lodge. They were also comissioned to produce furniture for many prominent Irish houses such as Ballynegall, Co. Westmeath, Oakley Park, Co. Meath and Strokestown CO.
