A George III silver wine funnel by Hester Bateman, London 1782, the bombe body with beaded rim and star pierced strainer, the detachable spout with reeded decoration, 4¾in. (12cm.) long, 2.85 tr.oz., * Condition: Maker's mark struck twice to top of spout section (one a little rubbed but clear, the other partial), plus lion passant. Full set of marks to underside of strainer, which are crisp. Worn engraved crest to body. Rim of strainer slightly mis-shapen. Probably small hammered dent to side of strainer (beside crest). Spout section in good condition.

(8.3cm.) height, together with an attic glazed terracotta wine cup, of urn form, large flared rim over narrowing body, supported on waisted stem to circular foot, 2½h x 2¾w in. (6.4 x 7cm.). * Condition: 4mm chip to rim of flask, 3mm chip to foot of flask, 25mm and 18mm chips to rim of wine cup.
