A Chinese Wucai archaistic ritual wine vessel, Gong, Wanli six-character mark but probably laterOf bellied form with dragon handle, the zoomorphic cover formed as a mythical beast, possibly a Qilin or Zhulong, painted in colours with phoenix birds in flight amid clouds and flames between bands of flowers and foliage, 15cm high (one horn chipped).Provenance: Private English collection. Acquired in Singapore between 1949 and 1961, thence by descent to the vendor.One horn chipped off. Minor rubbing to the enamel in places. Tiny glaze chip to the spout. Glaze wear/tiny nibbles to the rim edge.

AN EARLY GEORGE II WALNUT AND NEEDLEWORK UPHOLSTERED WING ARMCHAIR CIRCA 1730 The needlework to the back depicting a fashionable couple drinking wine at a table with attendants110cm high, 82cm wide, 70cm deep overallProvenance: Property from the estate of the late Joe Constantine.For a related wing armchair see Christie's, London, 23rd May 2013, The English Collector, Lot 70 (£25,000)Condition Report: There are some marks, scratches, chips, cracks and abrasions consistent with age and use, some to the extremities and edges.There is some movement to the wing and arm joints.Some cracks to the feet, the recessed underside of the feet have holes from previous casters, now with metal sliding bosses.There is evidence of old worm including to the seat rails, blocks, some ears to the tops of the cabriole legs and the underside of the feet.The upholstery to the sides and back is pale green moquette/stiff wool velvet type fabric. Some ageing and wear to the tasselled trim, detached, missing and fragmented in areas.The upholstery has a cartouche shaped needlework panel to the chair back and an oval needlework panel to the seat cushion, both worn and with repairs and later set into later woolwork to make them fully fit the relevant areas. The inner sides and tops of the arms with sections of woolwork, with plaited woolwork trim. The woolwork variously worn, threadbare in some areas, later stitched and patched in places.Please note we have not inspected the frame beneath the upholstery and can't comment on the condition and originality of this area.Please refer to the additional images for a visual reference of condition. A WEDGWOOD BLACK BASALT WINE EWER AND ASSOCIATED BASE19TH CENTURY After the model by John Flaxman, modelled with a Bacchic Satyr holding the horns of a ram, trailing vine and grape swags, on an associated cold-painted terracotta square base, impressed WEDGWOOD 45cm high overall, the ewer 39cm high The proceeds of this lot will be donated to the Ukraine Crisis AppealCondition Report: Base is chipped and is a cold-painted composition body, possibly terracotta or some such copy of the base it should have had and is a much later addition, probably made to replace the original.
