A group of three green glass sealed wine bottles: including a George III cylindrical bottle with seal 'R.H.C/1815', 27cm; a later bottle with baluster neck and seal 'R.J.& H/1877', 33cm; and a French bottle with seal for the 'Hotel de Paris Monte Carlo', 29cm.*Provenance the initials on the first bottle are for Richard Hall Clark J.P., D.L. of Bridwell, Uffculme, Devon. The house was built in 1774-9 for Richard Hall Clark and continued to be owned by the family until 1980. A serious fire damaged the house in the late 1980s and, in partnership with English Heritage, comprehensive restoration was subsequently carried out.
A Victorian carved walnut conversation seat: of quatrefoil outline, fully upholstered in wine red dralon velvet, having central stuff over button down, divisions of tricorn shape, raised on turned and ovule-shaped carved legs, terminating in brass cappings and castors, 138cm (4ft 6in) across.
