An antique late 19th Century German Silver ice bucket / wine cooler stamped 800 of tapering cylindrical form with acanthus decoration at the base and a bound reeded border at the rim, chased with neoclassical style depictions of two ladies in profile within borders of garlands and swags. with gryphon's heads handles. Height 22cm / 8.5". Silver weight 1168g / 37.6 troy oz.
An antique 17th Century Swiss Parcel gilt Silver wine cup / goblet maker's mark LK or LR under a crown, probably from provincial French speaking Switzerland circa 1650-1680, with later French control mark c1870. In the form of a chalice, the hexagonal bowl with rounded base and chased decoration, on a stem with foliate scroll decoration, atop a domed circular base. Height 19cm / 7.5". A George III mahogany and patinated metal mounted oval wine cooler, circa 1775, with gadroon carved rim and outset terminals hung with laurel cast patinated metal mounts above patera motifs, above square section fluted tapering legs terminating in brass caps and casters, 54cm high, 71cm wide, 54cm deep The decorative motifs used in the design of this wine cooler, including the use of husks, fluting and the type of patera are all characteristic features used by the well known cabinet makers Mayhew and Ince. A wine cooler of very closely related design but white painted and with ormolu mounts throughout, was offered by Ronald Phillips . The mounts on the example at Ronald Phillips were said to be attributable to Diedrich Anderson who supplied high quality mounts to Mayhew and Ince. The mounts used for the current example being offered are not gilded but are cast with the same motifs and to very similar proportions. Please note revised estimates are £2000 - £3000

A Chinese cloisonne ritual wine vessel, Jue, 18th/19th Century, the cylindrical belly raised on three dragon-head legs and decorated around the body with leafy lotus scrolls, the rim with a band of ruyi heads, one side with a gilt dragon handle, the lip typically flaring at one end and with a long curving spout between two upright posts, 11.5cm high.
