A George III period hallmarked silver two-part wine funnel gadrooned edge, pierced bowl and with maker's mark CF, assayed London 1813 (12cm high) There do not appear to be any repairs, the condition is very good overall the only real concern is a very small “ding” (about the size of a small match head) to the side of the circular bowl. This is in good general overall original condition with no major problems noted and it is not thin, restored or repaired.
A good varied selection of drinking glasses (some engraved) including rummers and wines, one rummer engraved with a hare coursing scene, one rummer engraved with fruiting vine, monogrammed and with 'lemon-squeezer'-style base, two glasses with twist stems etc. (8) The largest rummer appears to be in good order generally except for some scratches to the underside of the foot. The rummer with the square lemon squeezer style base and foliate engraving has a few nibbles to the extremities of the square base but nothing drastic, there is also some scratching to the underside. On the very corner of the top of the square plinth style base there is a tiny chip on the edge. The other similar rummer engraved with a hare coursing scene appears to be in good general overall decorative order. The larger of the two 18th Century style wine glasses with the conical bowl has one quarter thumb nail sized chip to the underside of the foot and other smaller chips to the edge. The “smallest” glass/rummer appears in good reasonable order. The conical shaped flute with an engraving around the top appears in general good order. One further flute engraved with hops and leaves appears to be in good order and there is one further glass with what looks like a double spiral opaque twist stem appears to be in good general overall condition with no major problems noted.
Various cut glassware to include a heavy 19th century rummer, the border hand engraved in neo Classical style, a set of eight frosted and clear glass ice plates, a set of four salts of Campana form, one further boat-shaped salts and a large conical-shaped wine glass engraved with the royal cypher of Edward VIII dated 1937 (13), (some damage)
An 18th century style wine glass having a double spiral-twist stem and raised on circular folded foot (17cm high) This has come privately and has a folded foot and a rough pontil mark to the central underside. There are some bubbles present in the foot and the circular foot is not “uniform” although we do not think this indicates any grinding down of glass to the extremities. There is one area of the underside of the foot that has a slight “kink” although this is not necessarily indicative of restoration, the main double spiral stem appears in good order as does the inverted trumpet shaped bowl. The central section of the bowl (although viewable on the outside, prevalent on the insie) has a rising wrythen imperfection that manifests itself as a raised area to the middle although again in our opinion this is natural and not as a result of any problematical issues.
Silver to include a lady's Art Deco compact with mirror, vacant rectangular cartouche and engine-turned decoration, a late-19th century hallmarked silver vesta (Chester assay marks) monogrammed within cartouche and decorated with foliate-style decoration and two later hallmarked silver wine tickets 'Whisky' and 'Sherry' (4)
