Alión has almost 100 hectares of vineyards, all of them of the tempranillo or tinto fino variety, almost all of which are planted in goblet vines except for 12 hectares that are trellised. Around 20% of the vines are more than twenty years old and are used entirely for winemaking. On the other hand, of the rest of the grapes, only those that are at least ten years old are used in each harvest. At CVNE, the winemaking process is still cared for with the same dedication and commitment as in the early years of the company. And care is taken from the beginning, from the time the grapes are on the vine until the wine rests in the bottle. CVNE was one of the first wineries in La Rioja to bottle, and already in 1900 it had an extraordinary ageing capacity of 80,000 bottles, something unusual at a time when it was normal to dispatch the wine as soon as possible. Today, for CVNE, bottling continues to be a process to be pampered.

Between 1919 and 1983 La Mission was under the management of the Woltners family, who significantly improved the quality of the vineyard and modernized the winery. In fact, during the Woltners' tenure La Mission delivered some of its best vintages, surpassing even its neighboring (and sister) winery Haut Brion. Since 1983 the Dillon family (owners of Haut Brion) has been in charge of carrying on the same philosophy and policy as their predecessors. The 20-hectare vineyard occupies a gravel terrace known for its high quality.

Petrus 2000 is a red wine from the Pomerol wine region, Bordeaux, made from a selection of Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Considered by great critics and winemakers the best wine in the world. It has been awarded 100 points by the prestigious Parker. Château Petrus is today one of the most appreciated and expensive in the world, along with the first crus of the left bank of the Gironde. The 11.4 hectares of Petrus vineyards are located on a plateau in the eastern part of Pomerol, and produce 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. The estate was one of the first in Bordeaux to use green harvesting to reduce yields and increase the quality of the remaining grapes, in some years even eliminating 50% of the harvest. The grapes are harvested entirely by hand over a period of two to three days and fermented in cement vats at controlled temperatures. The young wine is aged in new French oak barrels for twenty months. A severe selection is carried out prior to blending in vats, and some lots are rejected for the Grand Vin.
