Braun (George and Hogenberg Frans), La puy Noble y Muy Leal Civdas de Cadiz [on sheet with] Almodrava de Caditz sive Thynnorum Piscatio apud Cades, circa 1610, two engraved views of Cadiz on one sheet (as published) after a drawing by Georg Hoefnagel, inset key plate, contemporary hand colouring, 350 x 485 mm, mounted, framed and glazed Originally published in Civitates orbis Terrarum. These two views of Cadiz show a distant panorama of the bay and city with its fortifications, with 24 major points identified in the key, above a detailed depiction of the tuna fishing industry in Cadiz; with men hauling nets, processing the fish, and the bones and heads being burnt. In the lower left three women cook and spit roast over an open fire and a well dressed man tastes wine being sold from a tent in the lower right. (1)

Cabinet-Maker's Notebook. An album of pen and pencil sketches, circa 1830, 35 pp. with some blanks, paper watermarked 1811, including drawings or armchairs, chimney pieces, grates, day beds, occasional tables, torcheres, sofas, chifonnieres, pedestal tables, wine coolers, etc., with several designs for greenhouses and carriages, many of the drawings measured and showing constructional details, some offsetting to first three leaves from adhesive used for old cuttings pasted to first leaf recto, contemporary green stained vellum, rubbed and a little wear to spine, 4to (235 x 188) A few designs are annotated Eastnor Castle (Herefordshire, designed by Sir Robert Smirke, 1812-20) and Watermouth Castle (near Ilfracombe, Devon, the interior altered by George Wightwick, circa 1845).
