Leith - George IV - Duke of Clarence - Schetky, J. C. [The arrival of King George IV at Leith Docks, 14 August 1822]. London, 1823. A Chinese porcelain wine ewer in the Ming style with slender spout and strap handle, painted in blue with simulated `heaping and piling` with two quadrilobed shaped panels enclosing peach and loquat sprays on a ground of scrolling chrysanthemum and peony between bands of stiff leaves and lotus panels, Qianlong seal mark and of the period, 26 cm. high, repair to spout.
A pair of Flight Barr & Barr (Worcester) porcelain spill vases each of pedestal form with beaded band serpent handles and flaring rim, each enamelled within raised gilt panels with roses, passion flower, pansies and other blooms reserved on a wine ground, 11 cm high, script mark to bases, circa 1830-1840.
