6 Bottles Case of Three Squirrels - 6 bottles of wine from Hazel End, a small vineyard in the north west corner of Essex, which has been producing fine sparkling wine for 20 years. It's called Three Squirrels. There is a 5 year wait from picking to first release, just like top champagnes; but that's no surprise because it's made in exactly the same way. Three Squirrels is a blend of Muller Thurgau, Huxelrebe and Reichensteiner, three German crosses from vines planted more than a quarter of a century ago. Dermot Sugrue at Wiston, winner of a hatful of awards, has done the second fermentation. The blend is unique in the UK and some prefer it to champagne. Kindly donated by Hazel End Vineyard.
