1950 Bentley Mk. VI 4¼ litre Standard Steel Sports Saloon Transmission: manualMileage:63069B285GT was delivered in June 1950 to Consul-General Axel Johnson in Sweden straight from the factory and registered in Sweden as EJP-670. In 2007 it was acquired by a Mr. Gavel who made extensive modifications, including removing the original engine and fitting a B60 which was modified to accept a supercharger (photos on file). It was used for long distance touring fitted with an innovative roof rack - now removed as well as an overdrive. The car was also raced and so appeared in the Ray Roberts book 'Special Bentleys and Bentley Specials'. Towards the end of his ownership, Mr Gavel refitted the original engine (by then refurbished) to the car. B285GT was subsequently imported to the UK on the 28th June 2013. This example is presented with new East of England cloth headlining and on new, slightly oversized, tyres (205/80/16) which give a more comfortable ride. All wheels sport chrome and black painted discs in good order with additional spats available and included in this lot. The paintwork, overall, is in good condition although the wheel arches now show light signs of bubbling and corrosion commensurate with its age although nothing needing immediate attention. Both sills appear in good order as does the front and rear bumpers although one rear overrider shows damage. Both headlights uprated to halogen show good chrome and good parabolic reflectors. The with a re-chromed radiator and base-mounted badging near the centre spotlight.Whilst in Sweden, the nearside front wing had a side mounted spare wheel, this wing and bespoke wheel cover is included in the lot. The engine bay shows genuine care lavished upon it. The crankshaft damper has been rebuilt and the vehicle is fitted with a full flow oil filter, a new coil and the original torch still present. Both the engine and engine oil are clean and, we are informed, the oil is changed regularly. The interior has been re-carpeted and edged in leather throughout, including the boot. The door-cappings, dashboard and dash-top walnut veneers all appear to have been renewed and show in good order. The rear seating and all door cards have been recovered and all seating is firm and complete although the front seats do sport aftermarket leather covers. The blind is fully operational as are the Smith dials in the dashboard including the recently rebuilt clock. Inertia reel seat belts have been fitted as well as an additional tachometer plus a discreet panel under the dashboard which includes a USB port, hazard warning lights, overdrive and screen wash. The car is fitted with a towing eye to the front and a discrete tow bar and removable tow hookAdditionally, there is an aftermarket two-speed heater to assist this subtly modernised Bentley, although the original, fully working, unit is still fitted underneath the passenger seat alongside a battery isolator. It is reported to drive well, complete with overdrive, and the modifications certainly point towards and extremely usable example. It is supplied with the original owner's handbook and a complete workshop manual. It is also supplied with a trunk in need of some work and fine leather straps to secure this to the boot lid when dropped down. The car is only for sale due to the owner reducing his collection and will have been driven 100 miles to the auction.

1993 Mercedes-Benz S600 Coupé 'ex-Brunei Royal Family' Transmission: manualMileage:613With each successive generation of Mercedes-Benz cars, the Stuttgart manufacturer maintains its tradition of offering the very finest automobiles across a wide range of classes. Debuted at the Geneva Motor Show the new W140 series was developed at a cost of over one billion dollars and was unquestionably the most advanced motorcar on the planet when it came out. Standard equipment on these supremely well-appointed automobiles included a four-speed automatic transmission, traction control, double-glazed glass, electronic stability control and pneumatically self-closing doors. The S500 and S600 were electronically limited to a maximum speed of 155mph, surely fast enough for most. In 1993 Mercedes-Benz changed the model designations of the 500 SEL/600 SEL to S500/S600.  Often considered the last 'over-engineered' Mercedes, the W140 and C140 series are still believed by many to be the ultimate car in terms of luxury, comfort and reliability.Supplied new to the Brunei Royal family this unique and imposing example of the flagship S600 Coupé is to be regarded as perhaps the lowest mileage example in existence. Presented in black with black sumptuous luxury trim this example was bought to the UK in 2021, and since has been serviced and readied for UK driving. The history includes an MoT test certificate and V5C registration document. Features on these cars include climate control, cruise control, electric memory heated seats with air lumbar supports, double glazed windows and electric rear window blind. This would be a fabulous opportunity to own this early 90's flagship model.INTERESTED PARTIES SHOULD NOTE THAT THERE IS NO V5 WITH THE SALE OF THIS LOT, THE V5 HAS BEEN APPLIED FOR AND EXPECTED IN THE COMING WEEKS, ONCE THE DVLA HAVE SUPPLIED THIS IT WILL BE FORWARDED ONTO THE NEW OWNER IN DUE COURSE. (TO CONFIRM ALL TAXES ARE PAID)

Lot 145

1933 Morris 10/4 Saloon Transmission: manualMileage:7206Introduced in the latter half of 1932, the Morris 10 stole a march on many of its rivals by virtue of its superior Lockheed hydraulic brakes, most small family cars of the period continuing to rely on mechanical systems. The four-cylinder sidevalve engine drove via a three-speed gearbox and in most other respects, the 10 was entirely conventional. This example benefits from a four speed gearbox with synchromesh. This model was also extremely successful, helping Morris establish a commanding presence in the increasingly important 10hp market sector. The 10 provided a generous amount of accommodation for this class of car (it was identical to the Twelve in all respects save for the latter's larger engine) with ample legroom in the rear compartment. This stunning Morris is offered for sale for the first time in over 46 years. The car was purchased in 1976 and was garaged for a few years before the restoration process began. The decision was taken at the outset that the restoration would not be limited by either time or expense and that everything would be done correctly and to an exacting standard. This mantra is obvious in the car we see today. The phrase 'everything works' is unusual when describing a car that is nearly 90 years old but certainly applies to this 10/4. The doors close with a reassuring thud, the sunroof works, as does the rear blind. The green and black paintwork and the green leather upholstery are in the same fantastic condition as the rest of this wonderful car. The front grille mounted temperature gauge is, as to be expected from such a well restored car, spot on. The Morris 10/4 was extremely advanced for its year and this model includes hydraulic brakes and an electric fuel pump, a feature that wasn't standard on Rolls-Royce cars for another three years. Offered to auction with the original key, handbooks, various bills and receipts, a V5C registration document, old tax discs and photographs of the restoration process. The original buff logbook is present, together with various owners' manuals. Following this lifetime restoration process, JG 3902 has travelled just over 7,000 miles which have been described by the vendor as both trouble free and tremendous fun. Sensibly estimated for what is one of the finest cars we have ever seen, this Morris would grace any collection.
