A walnut and marquetry longcase clock, with an 8 day movement striking on a bell and a 11 inch brass dial with silvered chapter ring signed Wm Speakman London, with a subsidiary seconds dial, ringed winding holes and a pierced date aperture with scroll decoration, the hood centred a monogram WA, flanked by a pair of cherubs and foliage, a pair of ball and spire finials to a moulded cornice with a blind fret frieze, with turned pilasters above a cavetto moulding, the trunk door with the same monogram, birds, vases of flowers, lions and foliage and with replaced glass lenticle, the base panel with a marquetry parrot, 85.5in (217cm) h.
