Blind, Karl 9 autograph letters signed from Karl Blind referring to the publication of the article Au peuple français to make peace and friendship between Germany and France in 1871, all but one in German, c.1871-76 Note: Karl Blind (b.1826), German revolutionist and journalist, born at Mannheim. He took part in the risings of 1848, was sentenced to prison for a pamphlet entitled German Hunger and German Princes" but was rescued by the mob and found refuge in England.

A Large & Impressive Carved Antique Masonic Throne chair. The 70 inch ( 178 cm) tall padded back, arms and seat upholstered in green leather with brass studded edges. The peaked cresting rail carved with masonic symbols enriched with gilding above stop fluted columns with voluted Ionic capitals. The arms having finely carved outswept animal head terminals on curved acanthus crested supports. The blind fret carved seat rails raised on cabriole legs carved with acanthus and leading down to the hairy paw feet.
A Mahogany Chippendale Style Open Bookcase. The dished top having a moulded edge and re-entrant corners above a carved blind fret-work frieze with a carved foliate cartouche at the centre. The four adjustable shelves flanked by shallow carved sides, above a moulded base and ogee feet with carved scroll terminals. 41½ ins (91.5 cms) high, 47 ins (119.5 cms) wide and 9½ ins (24 cms) deep.
A Fine 19th Century Mahogany Silver Table. The rectangular top having a pierced fretwork gallery above a blind fret carved frieze band with pierced scrolling corner brackets. The square canted legs embellished with further blind fret carving and terminating on moulded spade feet united by pierced stretchers bearing a galleried under-shelf. 27 ins (69 cms) wide, 16½ ins (42 cms) deep and 30 ins (76 cms) high.
A Tall Chippendale Style Carved Mahogany Musical Longcase Clock. The 12 inch (31 cms) brass dial having a roundel plaque to the arch inscribed with maker's name; Thos. Henderson Hull, decorated with scrolling mounts & spandrels, and framed by a blind-fret carved dome-topped door with stop fluted columns either side; the gilt Corinthian style capitals bearing a heavy swan-neck pediment ornamented with carved sprays of foliage and surmounted by a foliate crest. The arch topped trunk door edged in moulding and adorned with interlaced C-scrolls and foliage flanked by canted blind-fret carved corners. The base with further applied foliate carving raised on bracket feet, 102 ins (60 cms) in height.
