Dial is very good, some wear to silvering, hands rusty. Movement appears original to the case and there is no visible evidence of any replacement parts. Case is very good, some evidence of old woodworm, holes filled and polished. Pillar capitals on both case and hood have been painted gold.

The sheets are all in good condition without evidence for any rips, folds or creases and no obvious signs of any deterioration. All prints are blindstamped bottom left with pencil letters. The prints are clear with good impressions. Please see additional photographs uploaded to the catalogue. The covers are in good condition with very minor wear and tear, there are no visible surface losses or evidence for damage.

An unusual Edwardian inlaid walnut Davenport type deskThe pen box with gallery back and blind-fretwork front before a pull-out writing surface inset with a tooled tan leather skiver and concealed stationary recesses, above a single frieze drawer with marquetry swag detail, the base with beveled-glazed door within a blind fretwork frame, opening to a single fixed shelf, raised on tapering square-section supports and ceramic casters, 62cm wide x 49cm deep x 85.5cm high.Condition report: Fine splits to back. Split to right side. Small area of staining to top right. Structurally sound overall. Minor cosmetic marks consistent with age and use. Glass good. Small sections of internal divider top snapped off but not lost.
