A MEISSEN DESSERT SERVICE, LATE 19TH C of blind and pierced trellis shapes, painted with flowers and insects, the service including a pair of three tier comports, 46cm h, incised shape numbers, crossed swords (23) ++Comports of several elements bolted together with a long brass rod and nut leaning slightly, on one comport the smaller of the two dividing balusters with old gilt metal repair. The figure of the lady on the other comport lacking much of the porcelain lace trim. Both figures with typical but minor damage to the flowers and foliage, no substantial damage or restoration. One of the three low stands with small damage to the rim in one place that has been broken and restuck. No evidence of glaze scratches or wear, the gilding not rubbed.

(238cm.) high.

Lynch was a friend of Michael Collins and fought alongside him and the Irish Volunteers in the 1916 Rising. Lynch was one of five secretaries to the signing of the Anglo-Irish Treaty.
