THE ROLLING STONES - 'NO. 2' LP ('NO. 3' MISPRINTING DUTCH SLEEVE EXPORT COPY - LK 4661). Extremely scarce unusual misprinting original UK/believed to be Dutch export copy of the 1965 LP from The Rolling Stones. The sleeve is misprinted with 'No. 3' printed (contains the original blind man text, does not contain any printer detail). The record (UK LK 4661 1A/1A inverted matrix unboxed original) is in super clean Ex condition with just a couple of very light and fine paper hairline marks. The flipback sleeve is in VG+ condition with some tape residue along the top edge of the reverse and some pen markings next to some of the tracks.

The record (LK 4661, unboxed, inverted matrix label, 2A/1A, BIEM NCB credits to left of the spindle hole) is in very clean Ex+ condition showing only a couple of extremely minor, faint and wispy paper hairline marks. 2A/1A matrix endings. The sleeve (type 1 'blind man' non-flipback design, James Upton credit) is in Ex condition with a couple of light creases and a little discolouration on the reverse.

The work is considered to be one of the major pieces of Shi'ite Muslim literature and is particularly known for its eloquent content, that attributed to Imam Ali.

Longley Novr. 1813" and another "Cotton 1817" to front free endpaper, contemporary straight-grain calf with border in gilt and blind, spine gilt, rubbed, spine chipped at head and foot, upper joint split, 12mo, James Cawthorn, [1809, watermarked "E & P 1805"].⁂ Written following the poor review of his first work Hours of Idleness which was published in 1807 and reviewed anonymously in the Edinburgh Review by Henry Brougham. In this work he praises the Neoclassical poets Dryden and Pope and attacks the Romantics Wordsworth and Coleridge, and the editor of the Edinburgh Review, Francis Jeffery, to whom he attributed the review. Charles Thomas Longley (1974-1868), clergyman who served as Bishop of Durham, Archbishop of York, and finally Archbishop of Canterbury from 1862 until he died.

NO RESERVE First World War.- [James (Alfred)] Six Months in Politics by "West Country Miner", presentation inscription from the author to title, ownership blind stamp to front endpapers, contemporary cloth, lightly soiled, printed for the Private Record of the Recipient only, 1917; and a pre-production typed proof, and 2 First World War letters by Lieutenant Frank Torbett to a friend, v.d., v.s. (4)⁂ Frank Torbutt was a Lieutenant in the 32nd Divisional Ammunition Column of the Royal Field Artillery. Both letters describe his daily life on the Western Front, including marching on a full pack and sleeping in fields, barns, and stables: ""it is quite a common thing here to see a raised plot of grass by the side of the road with an inscription an unknown soldier who died for his country R.I.P", and experiences in the trenches, "suddenly you will turn off and cut through a field or two and finally find yourself at the entrance to a communication trench which is some five foot deep with earth piled on each side. This trench is made in zig zag fashion and on you tramp until you eventually come to the firing line. It is quite an experience to hear the bullets whistling overhead...".
