Robert Lenkiewicz (1941-2002) 'Blind Tobit looking at the Angel', Project 21, oil on canvas signed and titled verso framed and glazed, 49cm x 59cm. Project 21 was a small project of paintings painted blind. Tobit is usually presented as an allegory of faith persisting through poverty and misfortune, most famously by Rembrandt in the National Gallery’s Anna and the Blind Tobit (1630). In his Blind Tobit, Lenkiewicz tried to detach his mark-making from a lifetime of acquired skill by painting blindfolded in a specially prepared studio.

Some minor splits, usual wear as expected including the dog kennel base.

(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Good colour overall, with the usual water stains, scuffs, marks etc. Losses in places, especially to the front bracket feet area. Some noticeable splits, however appearing in good useable condition overall.

(B.P. 24% incl. VAT) CONDITION REPORT: Rather tired condition in places, some loss to veneers. Scratches, split and wear as expected commensurate with age. The shelves and the back have probably been replaced and are now pine. One small knob handle is missing and one large knob handle also missing. As well as damage to some of the handles.

Napoleonic War Period Cavalry Officer’s 1796 Light Cavalry Officer’s Sword.A good and rare example with gilt and blind etched decoration to the single edged 26 inch curved blade. The decoration depicts a crowned GR cypher, Royal Coat of Arms, Britannia and a figure of Victory. The hilt of the regulation pattern, with steel single bar guard, the grip retaining leather covering silver binding. Housed in steel scabbard with two loose rings. The blade in good clean clear condition. The hilt and scabbard with matching dark patina.

London Underground Metropolitan Line A-Stock DESTINATION BOX. A complete, free-standing unit with winding mechanism and including fitted BLIND with all Metropolitan and East London Line destinations.
