Postal History.- William Mulready.- Stephens (F.G., compiler) Memorials of William Mulready, 14 mounted plates, with an original example of Mulready's postal stationery, mounted on a signed autograph piece about Mulready by ?John Blackwood, publisher, library blind-stamps and labels, contemporary red morocco, gilt, spine ends and corners worn, rubbed, g.e., 4to, 1867.
Burne-Jones (Edward).- [MacLaren (Archibald)] The Fairy Family, first edition, engraved frontispiece, additional pictorial title and wood-engraved tail-piece by Edward Burne-Jones, tissue guard to title, 4pp. publishers' catalogue at end, no pp.81-96 as is correct, light spotting to title, small book-late of James Franck Bright, original purple cloth stamped in blind with small gilt wheels at corners (variant binding), a little rubbed, spine faded, 8vo, 1857.⁂ The first book illustrations by Edward Burne-Jones.

Ireland.- [Cromwell (Thomas)] Excursions through Ireland: Province of Leinster, vol.1 & 2 only (of 3), engraved pictorial titles and 111 plates, occasional foxing, attractive contemporary dark blue straight-grain morocco with borders in gilt and blind, spines gilt in compartments, g.e., a little rubbed and faded, 12mo, [c.1820].⁂ With far more plates than the usual 10 plates per volume.

A circa 1905 bicycle featuring a 24-inch frame, a dual-link inch-pitch chain set, 7-inch cranks with racing rat-trap pedals, front wheel stirrup brake, single gear fixed wheel, track ends to the rear forks and blind end front forks, 28-inch Westwood style rims, 19-inch drop handlebars in the French style with turned wood grips and a Gladiator embossed tool bag. A Humber Lady's 24-inch Loop Frame Bicycle. A highly original bicycle with typical Humber double-hollow front forks with blind ends, flat 19-inch nickel-plated handlebars with white celluloid grips and a centre-pull front stirrup brake, a 6-inch chain set with 7-ich cranks and split rubber pedals, skirt guard, back-pedalling brake, a Lucas rear rank and a wicker basket. Other features include a Brooks leather saddle and a nickel-plated bell.
An oak cased long case eight day clock by Joseph Swinnerton, circa 1730, probably Sutton, Lancashire, the arched hood with three brass finials above a blind fretwork frieze, arched glazed side viewing windows and a pair of freestanding reeded pilasters, enclosing the 35cm break arch gilt metal dial, the celestial movement with a rolling globe indicator above the dial applied with a silvered bezel and gilt metal openwork spandrels, centred with a subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture and signed with the makers name, the three train five pillar movement strikes upon a central saucer bell and six graduated bells, above the shaped and cross banded door, flanked by reeded quarter columns over the lower cross banded panel, raised upon later bracket feet, 258cm H, three weights, pendulum and keysFor condition information please view this lot on our website HERE
