A late 19th Century gilt Spelter and Ceramic mounted Mantel Timepiece, the cylindrical case decorated with a rampant lion and further fleur-de-lys decoration, with applied flaming urn finial and flanked by lions mask detail, to a pierced and scrolling shaped base, to a spun Brass bezel with bevelled glass, enclosing a 4 ½” Arabic enamel chapter ring, with outside minute track and pierced blind fret centre, and further blued steel moon hands, to a circular Brass movement with anchor escapement and short bob pendulum, height 15”

A LATE VICTORIAN ROSEWOOD SIDE CABINET, having glazed back with two cupboards under a broken swan neck pediment flanked by side shelves and mirrors, the breakfront base with three freize drawers over a central mirrored door, flanked by blind panel doors on pot board type base with square tapering legs. Overall inlaid with classical foliate decoration and strung outlines. C1890. 54” Wide x 18” Deep x 88” High.
AN EARLY 19TH CENTURY WELSH OAK DEUDDARN, having moulded cornice with drop finials, above three ogee arch panelled doors, the projecting base with three moulded freize drawers above two blind panel doors flanking a centre panel standing on bracket feet. Cardiganshire. C1810. 56” Wide x 21” Deep x 80” High. Provenance:- Originally from a family home in North Cardiganshire, by descent consigned from the family now living in Scotland.

The album with chromolithographed title-page ‘Album Mikado’ and 24 leaves (12 with chromolithographic surrounds). – Original morocco blocked in blind, gilt metal clasp, gilt turn-ins, g.e. (slightly rubbed).
COACHING & TOLL ROADS. – A very rare George II toll pass. [Great Britain:] 1744. A folding dark-brown calf and paper pass (69 x 54mm.) The left inner cover with applied paper label with 19 lines of letterpress text beneath the letterpress heading ‘Gate-Keepers Orders’ with manuscript signature at foot ‘Tho: Ripley’, the right inner cover with gilt tooled border incorporating ‘The Kings Private Roads’, ‘G II R’, ‘MDCCXLIV’ and ‘No 1020’ all surrounding a central area blocked in blind with an official stamp. The outer covers with borders decorated in single fillet and dog-tooth roll tools, contained within original black shagreen two-part slip-case, lined in red velvet. Provenance: the Tyrwhitt Drake family and thence by descent.
PHOTOGRAPHS. – An album containing 91 carte-de-visite photographs mounted recto and verso of 24 leaves. Folio (282 x 212mm.) [N.p.: n.d. but circa 1880-1890.] The album with 1 chromolithographed plate and 12 leaves with decorative chromolithographed surrounds, the others with blue and gilt surrounds. (Occasional light browning or soiling.) Contemporary calf blocked in gilt and blind, gilt metal clasp, g.e. – And five other empty photograph albums (6).

Contemporary green straight-grain morocco gilt, the covers panelled in gilt and blind, the spines in five compartments with raised bands, lettered in the second and fourth, the others tooled in gilt with a harp or foliate motif, gilt turn-ins, g.e. (hinges occasionally neatly repaired, some chipping to head of spines, spines faded to brown).

Wood-engraved title vignette, numerous wood-engraved illustrations (many full-page), 1 folding plan, 3 folding genealogies (1 genealogy torn and repaired with adhesive tape, occasional light spotting.) Contemporary calf, the covers panelled in blind (rebacked, old spine laid-down, extremities somewhat scuffed).

William Lee-Hankey (1869-1952) 'Le Connaisseur des Fleurs Etaples', etching, signed in pencil, and bears blind stamp monogram, 21cm x 16cm . Lee-Hankey was born in Chester and studied at the Royal College of Art and later in Paris. He produced a series of etchings of Breton subjects including architectural and figure studies.
