This print was purchased by the vendor's father c.1973 and has never been framed or exposed to light. It is presented with a mount and the original brown paper which has covered it since its purchase, along with the footnote of purchase price of £50 + VAT. A SOUTH GERMAN CLOSE HELMET FOR HEAVY FIELD USE, NUREMBERG, CIRCA 1550 with rounded one-piece skull rising to a high, file-roped medial comb (slightly bruised towards the rear of its crest), and visor, upper bevor and lower bevor attached to it at each side by common pivots (replaced), the forward-sloping visor pierced in front of the file-roped step of its centrally-divided vision-slit with six small ventilation-holes at each side, and fitted at the right with a hole to receive a combined wing-headed turning-pin and lifting-peg (missing) that fitted into a shaped notch cut into the upper edge of the prow-shaped upper bevor, the latter pierced at its left side with nine small circular ventilation-holes in rosette formation, and at its right side with three vertical ventilation-slots, the upper and lower bevors each secured at their right sides by spring-catches with push-button releases, the skull and bevor each flanged outwards at their lower edges and pierced with three pairs of holes, now plugged with blind rivets, for the leathers that originally attached their gorget-plates, the upper bevor decorated medially and at its upper edge respectively with a band and border each burnished bright, along with the sides of the comb, against an originally black-from-the-hammer ground (now cleaned bright) 28.0 cm; 11 in

London Transport RT/RTL-type bus DESTINATION BLIND (code 'S', for side/rear box) from Poplar (PR) garage dated 15.8.68 when a large proportion of the shed's routes were still (or could be) RT/RTL-operated, including the 9, 23 and the special service from Custom House to Manor Way. Apart from a little winding damage at the l/h side of the middle displays, the blind is in very good condition. [1]

This is a complete blind with both hems present as well as the roller at the top end. Blind is in well-used condition with a little damage on the 604/605 displays but is still good overall. [1]

Please note that Charterhouse do not guarantee the working condition of any watch or clock. The dial looks a little undersized for the hood, the dial has some sort of lacquer on it, the gilt spandrels have some sort of horrible gilt spray paint on them, the movement is very dirty and sits on a much later seat board, the case has had quite a bit of work done to it, especially in and around by the movement, the blind fret carved decoration above the hood door, is missing a few sections, and the base of the trunk has been severely reduced in height. Now clearly requiring repair, servicing the restoration.
