We Guide to Strike print by Gil Cohen. Aircrew of 156 Squadron Pathfinder Force Signing Group Captain G Womersley DSO DFC MID Pilot, Flight Lieutenant W Cleland DSO DFC Pilot, Flight Lieutenant T Timperley DFC Pilot, Flight Lieutenant H Hernaman DFC Wireless Operator Air Gunner, Wing Commander W Bagg OBE DFC Wireless Operator Air Gunner, Pilot Officer D Briggs DFC Flight Engineer Bomb Aimer, Warrant Officer J Chapman DFM Flight Engineer Bomb Aimer, Flying Officer C Dee Wireless Operator Air Gunner, Flight Sergeant C Follit DFM Air Gunner, Flying Officer W Kerry Navigator, Warrant Officer R Noye DFC Wireless Operator Air Gunner, Flight Lieutenant D Reed DFM Wireless Operator Air Gunner, Warrant Officer J McCrum DFM Wireless Operator Air Gunner, Warrant Officer J Watson DFM Flight Engineer Bomb Aimer. Flying ahead of the main bomber stream, a Lancaster of 156 Squadron Pathfinder Force makes a run over its target in the heavily defended industrial Ruhr Valley. Extreme concentration can be observed in the crews eyes as they focus on their critical task of marking the target. The Ruhr, the greatest industrial area in the whole of Germany, was the most heavily defended target in the world. The Ruhr Valley was nearly always covered by an almost permanent smoke-haze which, at night made visual pin-pointing of towns below nearly impossible. The Pathfinder force was able to penetrate the industrial pollution with aircraft equipped with the blind-bombing devise known as Oboe. This technology afforded the ability to seek out targets regardless of weather conditions and illuminate desired areas with brilliant target markers which reflected back up from the ground through the haze. The application of the crews precise identification of the target locations will enable the following bomber strikes to be incisively accurate further crippling the German war effort. Approx. 30 x 24 inches this has been mounted and never rolled. Its in pristine condition and the colours stunning. Good Condition. All signed items come with our certificate of authenticity. We combine postage on multiple winning lots and can ship worldwide. UK postage from £3.95, EU from £4.95, Overseas from £6.95

1953 Ford Zephyr 6- Entered from a private Irish collection- Rare, surviving first generation Zephyr 6- Tubular exhaust manifold, aftermarket rear blind and bench seats re-trimmed in leatherIntroduced in early 1951, Ford's Consul (four-cylinder) and Zephyr (six-cylinder) models were notable for their use of a monocoque bodyshell, MacPherson Strut independent front suspension and hydraulic drum brakes. Able to seat up to six thanks to the provision of a front bench seat and column gearchange, the Ford duo were powered by a new generation of 'oversquare' engines. Notably rugged and surprisingly quick, the 2262cc OHV-engined Zephyr Six proved a highly effective rally car with Maurice Gatsonides winning the 1953 Monte Carlo Rally aboard one (beating a Jaguar MKVII into second place) and Vic Preston piloting another to victory on the 1955 East African Safari Rally. Updated in September 1952, the Zephyr gained a revised dashboard with a separate instrument pod that mimicked the shape of its grille. For those Zephyr owners who wanted more performance Raymond Mays offered a range of tuning goodies from twin carburettors to freer-flowing exhausts. Suitably enhanced, the six-seater Ford could give contemporary sportscars a run for their money with a 95mph top speed!Finished in Blue with Light Grey leather upholstery, this particular example has formed part of a private Irish collection since 2006. The Ford's front and rear bench seats have been re-trimmed at some stage (leather was an optional extra in period) but its door cards look to be original. Under the bonnet the Zephyr's six-cylinder engine sports a tubular exhaust manifold but otherwise things appear pretty standard. The saloon's rear window carries an aftermarket sun blind. Wonderfully evocative of the 1950s and a comparatively rare survivor today, this appealing Ford looks to be in good overall condition and started readily during our photography session (October 2017).PLEASE NOTE: All estimates are subject to a buyer's premium of 16.2% incl.
