An Art Deco silver and portor marble table cigarette lighter of cylindrical form carved with bands, with blind fret cast mounts decorated in scrolling key pattern, a small sapphire set press button releases a hinged lid set with jade cabochon to reveal the lighter mechanism, the base stamped with an L in a crescent moon, 'Sterling', and '635', sapphire stone 2mm, jade cabochon 20mm, 4.2 by 11.5cm high.

An 18th century mahogany chest on chest, the top section with a shaped cornice, decorated with dentil moulding, above a set of two short, over three long graduated drawers, with blind fretwork decoration to either side, leading to the lower half, with brushing slide and three further long graduated drawers, raised on shaped bracket feet. 187 x 110cm.
George III silver cruet stand of cinque-lobed form, with engraved armorial shield and central carrying handle, on four shell feet (London 1761), maker - I. D., together with three silver coasters with engraved crests and pierced slip-in covers (one cover with blind insert), London 1766, same maker and two associated cut glass bottles with white metal covers and same engraved crest (unmarked). Approximately 46ozs weighable silver CONDITION REPORT General overall condition good. Stand is very good. some minor surface wear, pitting and scratching. Armorial is worn. No signs of major damage or repair. Large caster is in good condition, some minor surface scratching, cover is dented. Smaller caster with matching cover and blind insert has some denting to body and surface scratching. Cover is undamaged. Other caster has similar dents to body and foot us slightly distorted. Engraved crests are worn on all pieces. Large bottle has some minor chips, cover is good with some wear to decoration. Smaller bottle similar but with large chip to base, cover also worn. Marks on frame and casters clear, bottle covers unmarked

Signature of New Zealander Flight Lieutenant George Maurice Baird 248 Squadron Battle of Britain. On 29th October 1940 after shooting down a Dornier 215 his Blenheim was attacked by 3 Bf 109s. Flying blind Baird managed to crash his aircraft into the sea. The three survivors were made POWs enduring a long captivity that only ended on VE Day 1945. Good Condition.
