CHURCHILL RANDOLPH: (1849-1895) British Statesman, Chancellor of the Exchequer 1886. Father of Winston S. Churchill. A.L.S., Randolph S. Churchill, two pages, 8vo, Piccadilly, 13th September 1887, to Thomas Wrighton, on the blind embossed stationery of the Turf Club. Churchill thanks his correspondent for their letter informing him that the 24th October 'has been fixed for the meeting at Stockton'. Some very slight traces of former mounting to the right edge of the second page, not affecting the text or signature. Together with Jennie Churchill (1854-1921) American-born wife of Lord Randolph S. Churchill, mother of Winston Churchill. Ink signature ('Jennie Cornwallis West') on a slightly irregularly clipped oblong 12mo piece removed from the conclusion of a letter. Neatly laid down.
