First issue with the "fireside" plate at the end of volume 3. The second issue appeared within a week of the first and "Boz" was replaced by the author's name on the title-pages. This copy does not have the list of illustrations in volume one suggesting, as with the binding, that this is of the earlier state, though no formal precedence appears to have been given.
