In 1815 he changed his name by Act of Parliament to Abraham Gray HARFORD-BATTERSBY on inheriting his kinsman William BATTERSBY's estate and the BATTERSBY arms. He live at Stoke House, Westbury-on-Trym, Gloucestershire. A George III silver swing handled basket by William Plummer, London 1765, with a pierced lattice loop handle, a shaped gadrooned border with foliage at intervals, the pierced body engraved with a coat of arms, on four foliate scroll bracket feet, 38cm (15in) long, 1565g (50.3 oz) The impaled arms of Henry WALLIS who married Elizabeth PAUL on the 7th February 1758 at St Ann's church, Dublin. These are almost certainly the pair to which the arms refer. This Henry Wallis (born 1723 in Curryglass Co. Waterford and later of Drishane Castle) was the son of George Wallis (1708-1747). Elizabeth (born 1725) is the daughter of Joshua Paul (d 1730) by Elizabeth Christmas. This is a chain fusee movement. The chain is intact and fits well. Overall condition very good.
