David Norrie of Leith a Scottish George III Mahogany 8-day Longcase clock, with swan neck pediment, the single piece brass arched dial with painted moon phase complication to the arch, the four pillar movement chiming the hours and halves on a single bell., the case with a concave topped long trunk door flanked by 1/4 pilasters, supported on shaped bracket feet. 45 cm wide x 213 cm overall height.David Norrie is recorded as working on New Quay, Leith between 1787-1801, on his death his business was continued by his widow. A cased Chinese mahjong set, 20th century, the sliding front enclosing five drawers, bamboo and bone counters and 'Rules and Guide of the Game of Mah-Jongg' by Jackpot, box 24cm wide 17cm deep 14cm high Condition ReportSlide door glued to the top. Surface scratches. General wear consistent with age. The top handle has come off and there is a missing bracket. The dice later. There does not appear to be any missing tiles. An early 20thC oak cased longcase clock, the brass break arch dial with silvered chapter ring, bearing Roman numerals, below a Tempus Fugit circular plaque, the face decorated with cherub and scrolling spandrels, the hood carved with foliate and leaf motifs, the trunk with lappet carved border, the door with further floral carving, on bracket feet, with pendulum, 181cm high.
An 18thC flame mahogany cased longcase clock, the brass dial with silvered Roman numeral chapter ring for William Smithfield Romford, seconds dial, and date aperture, eight day movement, with strike and silent, surrounded by brass spandrels, the hood with an arched moulded cornice above two parcel gilt columns, the trunk with a panelled door and reeded decoration, on bracket feet, with key, pendulum and weights, 218cm high.
