A George III mahogany and inlaid Lancashire mule chest, circa 1780, with low panelled back, the rectangular bevelled top enclosing a vacant interior above five false drawer fronts and four two cock-beaded drawers with gilt brass swing handles between canted angles and on ogee bracket feet, 180 cm wide, 52 cm deep, 115 cm high.
A 20thC lacquer finish Japanese bureau bookcase, the over run cornice raised above an astragal glazed door, flanked by ten drawers, the sub section with a fitted interior above four long drawers, on ogee bracket feet, heavily decorated with birds and flowers, with gilt highlights, 205cm H, 93cm W, 45cm D.
A good late 19th century Arts and Crafts sideboard with twin bull's-eye leaded cupboard doors, plate rack top over two-drawer and two-cupboard base flanked by stylised marquetry panels and supported on bracket feet, L Peachey of Bolton Furniture maker's label to the inside right cupboard door, width 172cm.
A George III mahogany serpentine dressing chest in the manner of Thomas Chippendale, the top with a moulded edge above four long graduated drawers, the top one with a baize lined slide revealing divisions, all fitted with original brass handles with flowerhead paterae plates, flanked by curved angles, on bracket feet, 88cm high, 107.1cm wide, 58.5cm deep. Provenance: Purchased from John Bly Antiques, 27 Bury Street, London, 9th July 1999 for £55,000. A copy of the receipt is available.
A George III ebonised repeating bracket clock by John Day of London, the eight day brass movement with four turned pillars, with a verge escapement and striking on a bell, the backplate engraved with scrolling leaves, a ho-ho bird and numbered 'No. 520', the arched dial with a silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, with a matted centre with a date aperture and signed 'John Day London', with circular strike/silent dial and Rococo spandrels, the gilt brass mounted case with a bell top and handle and with cone finials and pierced fretwork sides, 47.5cm high.
An early 19th century mahogany twin pedestal partner's desk, the top inset with a later gilt tooled leather writing surface, the front with an arrangement of nine drawers, the back with three frieze drawers and two cupboards, each enclosing an adjustable shelf, on bracket feet, with castors, 75.3cm high, 123.2cm wide, 91.8cm deep.
Taxidermy. An Edwardian preserved heron and woodcock group by Hutchings of Aberystwyth, mounted in a naturalistic setting with rushes and reeds, in a gilt ebonised and glazed case, on bracket feet, the back inscribed in pencil with the customer's name 'John Davies', 98.3cm high, 45.4cm wide, 22.8cm deep.
A matched pair of mahogany bookcases in Regency style, each with a pair of astragal glazed doors enclosing three adjustable shelves, above a pair of cupboard doors, on swept bracket feet, 19th century and later, 209.3cm high, 119.5cm wide, 32.5cm deep (max). An early Victorian North Wales oak bread and cheese dresser, the moulded dentil cornice above a pair of cupboards with pierced decoration, each enclosing a shelf, flanking two further shelves, the base with three frieze drawers, one with the date '1837' carved to the lining, a pair of arched panel cupboard doors enclosing a shelf, on bracket feet, 206.8cm high, 185.5cm wide, 54.7cm deep.
A George I walnut bureau cabinet, the broken arch cornice centred with an Ionic capital carved with leaves and husks, above a pair of doors inset with later arched mirror plates, enclosing a fitted interior, with eleven cross and feather banded drawers flanking a central concave cupboard door, the interior with two drawers, with architectural pilasters and three large pigeonholes, above a pair of candle-slides, the hinged fall revealing seven further drawers, one with divisions for inkwells, above four long graduated drawers, on later bracket feet, with an ivorine trade label for 'S. & H. Jewell, 131-2, High Holborn, London, W.C.1.', 230.7cm high, 104.5cm wide, 60.5cm deep.
An early 18th century walnut bureau bookcase, the associated top with an arched cornice above a pair of glazed doors enclosing two shelves, the base with cross and feather banding, the hinged fall revealing pigeonholes, drawers and a central cupboard flanked by secret pilaster compartments, above four long graduated drawers, on bracket feet, 190.7cm high, 88cm wide, 56.2cm deep.
