A large 19th century mahogany cased bracket clock, the silvered 7” chapter ring with Arabic and Roman numerals set within pierced spandrels, below a Tempus Fugit roundel, the case with applied metal mounts and pierced fret panels, enclosing an eight day movement striking on eight bells and a gong, 56cm high, 39 x 28cm.
A large 20th Century circa 1920s / 1930s Chinese converted lidded china vase / urn into table lamp light. The vase having pale yellow ground with hand painted blue flowers and twin handles with brass light fittings to top, raised upon a square bracket gold base. Together with a large shade. Measuring approximately 87cm x 43cm with shade.
A 19th century George III mahogany ladies bureau writing table desk. Raised on bracket feet with a series of drawer under a fall front bureau atop. The bureau with fully appointed interior within. Fall front resting on loafers with brass swing handles to the drawers. Measures approx. 94cm x 76cm x 46cm.
A large Edwardian ebonised mahogany and ormolu mounted bracket clock and bracket, movement by W&H Sch., striking on two coiled gongs, dial signed J. Lewis, Margate and Ramsgate, 71cm high. Condition fair to good, the clock has not been tested for timekeeping.Case dirty and metal mounts tarnished but all mounts complete; one key locks front and rear doors; no winding key; dial bright; glass to dial door good. Winterhalder & Hofmeier German movement with twin going barrels. With original pendulum. Has been set going and has kept good time with quarter chimes for several days, although not guaranteed.
TWO 19TH CENTURY TEA CADDIES, comprising a Regency period sarcophagus form rosewood tea caddy with two lidded sections for tea storage and a central porcelain mixing bowl (cracked, possibly non-original), four metal ball feet, missing key one brass handle has fallen off but present, height 17.5cm x 23.5cm, together with a Georgian mahogany tea caddy with three divisions raised on bracket feet and ruched red velvet lined lid, a brass handle on lid and brass escutcheon, missing key (lid is damaged and signs of restoration), height 14cm x 22cm (2) (Condition Report: some scratches and water marks on the lid of both, each missing key, the velvet lining is worn and split in places, other most obvious damage is mentioned in description)
A Regency mahogany longcase clock, the swan neck and fret work pediment above an arched door and ring turned pilasters, above boxwood inlaid paterae, gothic arched trunk door flanked by cluster columns and over a cross banded base and raised on ogee bracket supports, the painted dial with moon phase above Roman and Arabic chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial, inscribed by maker 'JNo (John) Wyatt Altrincham' and decorated with hunting scenes and dogs, with an eight day twin train movement striking the hours hammer on bell. H230cm.
Great Central Railway oak cased 8 inch fusee railway bracket clock with a cast brass bezel and rectangular plated wire driven English fusee movement supplied to the GCR in the latter part 19th Century by Fitton of Heywood. The restored dial is lettered Fitton Heywood G.C.Ry 972, the rear of the dial is painted BR(E) 11088. The oak case is in nicely restored condition with one side door and a bottom door secured with brass turn. The LNER clock records show this clock as last in use at Grimsby Docks Port Masters Foremans Office and was originally GCR clock number 972. In working condition but not checked for accuracy complete with pendulum key and a copy of the LNER Clock record.
Southern Railway enamel target sign BARNSTAPLE JUNCTION from the former London and South Western Railway station between Exeter, Bideford and Ilfracombe. In very good ex station condition with some chipping mainly around the edges and complete with its original backboard and bracket. Measures 34in long.
A George III style oak bureau - second half 20th century, the fall front opening to reveal a well fitted interior with a waterfall arrangement of a pigeonholes over two drawers to each side, flanking four pigeonholes and two drawers centred by a cupboard with a secret compartment to the pilaster on either side, the base with three drawers over three long graduated drawers with swing brasses, on bracket feet. (LWH 81 x 48 x 101)
A George III oak and walnut bureau of pleasingly small proportions - the cleated fall front with original iron hinges and brass cartouche escutcheon and lock, enclosing a fitted interior with seven pigeonholes over three drawers, above two short and three long graduated drawers, with the original brasses and locks and walnut veneers to the dividers, raised on walnut veneered bracket feet. (LWH 80 x 48 x 94cm)
A Dutch 18th century burr and figured walnut bombe chest-of-drawers - the bevelled top over four cockbeaded, oak-lined drawers with the original pierced brasses and iron locks, raised on a moulded plinth with carved front paw feet and bracket feet to the rear (LWH 100 x 58 x 89 cm), damage to veneers to top, loss to left hand edge moulding.
A George III mahogany linen press of compact proportions - the ogee moulded, dentil carved cornice over a blind fret carved frieze, concealing a full width secret drawer, above two panelled doors enclosing three of the original four mahogany slides, the base with two short over two long graduated drawers with later swing brasses, on bracket feet (LWH 130 x 60.5 x 176 cm), minor losses to mouldings, part of one front leg detached.
