A George III mahogany bureau bookcase, the upper section with glazed astragal doors enclosing two adjustable shelves above a fall front, enclosing a fitted interior and leather writing surface, four long drawers below, on bracket feet (a marriage) 104cm by 52cm by 216cm. Original finish on both, colours are a very close match but noticeable on scrutiny. When the fall is lowered the height is 75cm leaving 37cm for the knees.
Aesthetic Movement ebonised collectors cabinet attributed to Collinson & Lock, the centre raised back with velvet and tassel lined open asymmetrical shelves flanked by bevelled glazed doors over short drawers, with an open shelf and a pair of panelled cupboard doors applied with stylised brass hinges and upon short bracket style feet, the brass lock plates signed 'Cope & Collinson', 47" wide, 18" deep, 66" high - ** An almost identical cabinet is believed to be in the British Museum and formerly the property of Princess Beatrice, 9th and youngest daughter of Queen Victoria and patron of E.W Godwin
