Winterhalder and Hofmeier, a Victorian ebonised and brass repeating bracket clock, the brass dial with silvered chapter ring and black Roman numerals, fast/slow dial above, the movement signed W & H Sch. striking on four plus one gongs, for the hours and quarters, the case with applied brass finials and scroll feet, height 43 cm. Winterhalder and Hofmeier are possibly the most famous of the German Victorian clockmakers. The firm was started by Anton Winterhalder in Schwarzenbach, Germany in 1810, taking Anton Hofmeier into partnership in 1850, with the business finally closing on the death of Winterhalder's last son Linus in 1910. A large part of their output was made for Britain and the quality of movements and cases is always very high as seen in this example.

A turquoise ground cloisonne bottle, four character mark of Qianlong, the cylindrical neck applied with gilt copper eagle mask and ring handles, above a rounded rectangular body, each side with a deep blue ground panel of two yellow dragons flanking a red shou character all within red bracket frames surrounded by flowers, 11.5cm (4.5 in) high

A 19th century silk embroidered wine red ground wool panel, now double sided, originally crested with an Emperor and Empress enthroned amongst attendants above a deer, bat and pine tree within bracket and scattered flower bands, now with the deer on one side and the figures on the other and edged in black silk, two embroidered seal marks, 198 x 183cm (78 x 72 in) This has some fraying and some holes in the background. The side with the figure cresting has faded more than the side with the deer.

A late 19th century French brass eight day mantel clock with gilt metal foliate decorated globular top above similarly decorated circular dial set with Arabic numerals with a fluted column to each corner above rectangular base on bracket feet, with Samuel Marti movement, stamped 6447/41, height 35.5cm including finial. CONDITION REPORT: Strikes on a coiled gong. General surface scratches and wear, overall ok. This has not been wound so unable to check springs. Lot comes with a pendulum.

A 19th century mahogany crossbanded Lancashire mule chest, the hinged lid above dummy drawer front with three true long drawers below, all with ivory escutcheons and applied brass handles above shaped apron on ogee bracket feet, height 114.5cm, width 125cm. CONDITION REPORT: General surface wear including scratches and minor chips commensurate with age throughout.

A late 18th century oak longcase clock, the broken swan neck with gilt metal detail above arched brass dial with circular chapter ring set with Roman numerals and with subsidiary date dial, inscribed Robert Powley of Appleby, flanked by two Corinthian columns above mould and dentil cornice and slender arched door, on plinth base with bracket feet, height 210cm.

An unusual late 19th century creamware automatic liquid soap fountain, inscribed 'Keeling & Walker, Stoke-on-Trent Eng', and mounted on a wooden hinged back bracket, with scallop moulded recess to the front, the panel height 38cm. CONDITION REPORT: Condition is good with just surface wear and traces of an old label displaying instructions (see further images)

SHAPLAND & PETTER; an Art Nouveau mahogany wardrobe of stepped form, the hanging space set with a bevelled mirrored door beside two ornate pierced copper panels and glazed doors decorated with peacocks above a single short drawer, long base drawer and bracket feet, width approx 124cm. CONDITION REPORT: The left side is locked and unable to open. General light surface wear but overall OK. Width 125cm, lower width 104.5cm, height to section on left 133cm.

A 19th century pine cased eight day longcase clock, the arched hood with hand painted enamel dial set with Roman numerals, subsidiary second dial and date aperture illegibly inscribed with Exeter maker's name, above domed door and plinth base with bracket feet, height 210cm excluding brass finial.

An early 19th century mahogany and oak longcase clock, the broken swan neck pediment above arched brass dial set with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, inscribed Westlake of Plymouth, flanked by fluted columns above arch door and plinth base with bracket feet, height 214cm.

A late 19th century walnut veneered table top cabinet with single arched and mirrored door enclosing a formation of eleven variously sized drawers, on bracket feet, height 43.5cm (af). CONDITION REPORT: The back right foot has been broken off. There are several areas of splits to the veneer and some losses particularly a large area to upper left corner of door.

A Hermle oak cased key wind striking and chiming bracket clock, the domed top above silvered moon phase and chapter ring set with Roman hour and Arabic five second interval numerals, baton second markers and inscribed 'Made in Germany', with applied manufacturer's plaque, on four brass griffin feet, height excluding handle 26cm. CONDITION REPORT: Clock may be currently over wound, minor marks to oak case, does chime, retains Hermle label, deterioration to plate of handle.
