Richd. Blakeborough, Ottley, a walnut longcase clock the eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bell and having a fourteen-inch break-arch painted dial with black Roman numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture, rural church scenes to the four corners, a seascape with castle painted within the arch and signed for the maker Richd. Blakeborough, Ottley and numbered 2215, the iron falseplate to the rear cast with the dialmaker's name Finnemore, Birmingham, the walnut case having quartered-columns to the trunk, shaped top to the short door, shaped panel to the base with the hood having a swan-neck pediment and full turned pillars, all standing on bracket feet, height 248cm. Note: Richard Blakeborough is recorded as working in Market Place, Otley, Yorkshire from before 1822 until at least 1837. He may be the same maker recorded at Pateley Bridge. An early 19th century Dutch walnut and marquetry Chest of four drawers, decoratively inlaid with; flowers, shells, chequered stringing, scrolls, and bows, the drawers fitted with oak carcasses and brass handles, the sides inlaid with urns and flowers, raised on spaded and bracket feet, W 95 cm x H 154 cm x D 51 cm, note, with some damages and losses to inlay and brass handles, see images.
A Chinese bronze incense burner or censer - Qing dynasty, probably 18th century, with cast apocryphal Xuande six character mark to base, of flared, oval form, the shallow moulded base with four bracket feet, the exterior and underside polished, the interior with a good mid-brown patination mottled with dark brown and iron red, 12.3 x 9cm, 4.6cm high, weight 403g.* Condition: In good condition overall, with a lovely original patination to the interior. The exterior in good condition with no dents, splits or other faults. A few tiny pinhead dings to the rim, which are very old. No repairs or restoration.
Three antique tea caddies - comprising a George III rosewood veneered sarcophagus tea caddy, with gilt brass handle to lid, the interior vacant, the base with bracket feet possibly later (LWH 25.5 x 13.5 x 15.5cm); a mid-19th century rectangular mahogany and burr walnut tea caddy (LWH 22.8 x 13.2 x 12cm); and a rectangular Regency rosewood veneered caddy (LWH 19 x 11 x 12.7cm).
