An 18th century Georgian black and gilt Japanned cabinet on stand having a rectangular top over a pair of cabinet doors inlaid all-over with scenes of figures on a landscape with pagodas, gondolas and a bridge among trees mounted with substantial repoussé brass hinges and escutcheons opening on to reveal an arrangement of ten drawers each decorated with a vignette depicting similar scenes raised on a moulded pedestal base on shaped bracket supports. A William IV rosewood bracket clock, signed Purvis, North Audley Street, London, the twin fusee movement striking on a bell, 40 cm high. Condition - good Case good; one key unlocks both doors. The four dial feet not disguised but obtrusive; pendulum can be secured by its original screw-bolt, as shown in fourth image. Has been set going and has kept good time over some four hours, although not guaranteed.
