An 18th century Scottish mahogany longcase clock having a scrolling shaped and moulded breakfront pediment with a central brass ball and spire finial above an arched aperture with the enamelled dial bearing Roman numerals with two subsidiary dials surrounded by hand painted and inscribed figural vignettes depicting the Fair Maid of Perth within a glazed crossbanded frame flanked by a pair of neoclassical spiral columns, the trunk having a single shaped and moulded flame mahogany door flanked by two reeded and canted pilasters raised on a stepped panelled pedestal over a shaped apron on square outswept bracket supports. An 18th century Georgian black and gilt Japanned cabinet on stand having a rectangular top over a pair of cabinet doors inlaid all-over with scenes of figures on a landscape with pagodas, gondolas and a bridge among trees mounted with substantial repoussé brass hinges and escutcheons opening on to reveal an arrangement of ten drawers each decorated with a vignette depicting similar scenes raised on a moulded pedestal base on shaped bracket supports. A William IV rosewood bracket clock, signed Purvis, North Audley Street, London, the twin fusee movement striking on a bell, 40 cm high. Condition - good Case good; one key unlocks both doors. The four dial feet not disguised but obtrusive; pendulum can be secured by its original screw-bolt, as shown in fourth image. Has been set going and has kept good time over some four hours, although not guaranteed.
