Johnson (John?) of Grays Inn Passage, London. An early 19th century, mahogany cased twin fusee, eight-day bracket clock with pull repeat, fitted with an incremental stirrup pendulum. Bearing engraved signature to the backplate with pendulum stay. The white painted dial. marked in Roman numerals with strike/night lever behind the door fitted gilt brass folding handle fish scale grilles and supported on ogee bracket feet. 40 cm high x 29 cm wide x 19.5 cm deep.Footnote: John Johnson is recorded as working at 9 Grays Inn Passage between 1770-1800.See Loomes, Brian. Watchmakers and Clockmaker of the World, page 425.Condition report: I have wound the clock and it runs and when the corresponding hour is reached it chimes proving both going and chiming train are intact, however, I can not vouvch for its accuracy or reliability.The fusee is a steel cable rather than a chainThe case has a crack at the top near the entablature that the handle fixes to and other fine cracks to the case.The movement is very clean and looks to have been recently cleaned.The circular dial looks like painted enamel the name and details are becoming feint and the dial also shows some marks and chip around the winding mandrelsThe rear door is very tight and seems to be slightly twisted and the hinges are looseSee further images

In a formerly ebonized pearwood ogee topped case with brass bail handle and finials. Unmarked as to maker or origin but probably 19th century Czech / Austrian 22 cm high x 11.5 cm wide x 9.5 cm deep.Condition report: The clock winds and runs and repeats when the mechanism is activated.I think the case has formerly been ebonized

A George III marquetry inlaid and satinwood strung, mahogany bowfront dressing table mirror with oval mirror plate, the base fitted three frieze drawers, on shaped bracket feet. 46 cm wide x 55 cm high x 24 cm deep, together with a similar mirror with shield-shaped mirror. 52 cm high x 64 cm high 21 cm deep.Qty: 2Condition report: The first mirror. The mirror surround has some damage and old patches to the cross-grain surround and stringing. Old scratch to the top across the inlay. The central drawer sticks out proud of the surface. The mirror plate has few blemishes at the borders. The adjusting knobs don't match each otherThe second mirror. The mirror horns are slightly loose. old patches to crossbanding and stringing. Old veneer patch to the left back edge of the carcass. The mirror plate is peppered with small losses in the silvering and the whole plate has a "glitter" to it from age-related deterioration.

Small veneer loss to right of top drawer and a small piece of stringing missing near the bottom of the front right side. Wear & tear commensurate with age.
