A George III mahogany serpentine dressing chest, the top drawer with leather inset slide above various lidded compartments, all above three further drawers, with brass carrying handles to the sides, 82cm x 93cm Condition Report: Top with 1in. loss to crossbanding back left and smaller area to back right corner. Several later patches to crossbanding at rear and sides. Oval banding in good condition but with small patch approximately 2in x 1.5in. near back left side. Area of staining to right of oval panel. Later leather to brushing slide. Fitted boxes within in good condition, some staining. Loss to cockbeading of second drawer top left. Loss of crossgrain centre beneath bottom drawer. Both bracket feet have been cracked and one has small loss of veneer. Canted corners with small veneer loss and small replacement. Side beading above shaped apron missing to left and right. With original brass carrying handles. Colour and patina not great though no sign of repolishing. The veneers have faded a little and the front has lost some of its original patina. No sign of woodworm. Overall a beautiful chest in need of tender restoration.
A late 17th Century marquetry chest of two short over three long drawers, on bracket feet, inlays of birds and flowers to top, sides and drawer fronts, 96cm wide/see illustration Condition Report: Top with split, lifting veneer, both sides cracked, small patch of parrot veneer missing, drawer front condition good with only minor blemishes. Drawers run smoothly, on later bracket feet. The locks appear to be original but the key hole escutcheons appear to be later.
An Italian bracket clock of Louis XV design, the simulated Boulle type case gilt metal mounted and surmounted by a cherub, with acanthus mounts to the sides and figure of Father Time beneath, on grotesque mask and claw feet, fitted a circular dial with segmented porcelain panels with Roman numerals and having an eight-day striking and chiming movement on gongs, 90cm high/see illustration Condition Report: The clock is c1960
A George III eight-day, hour repeat bracket clock by John Ellicott, London, the brass arched dial with gilt metal rococo spandrels, silvered metal chapter rings and calendar aperture, the movement with crown wheel escapement and bob pendulum and engraved and signed backplate, contained in a fine burr walnut case with pierced fret and glazed panel sides, 40.5cm high/Exhibited at the Art Treasures Exhibition in Bath 1958 no 141/see illustration Condition Report: There is no repeat strike to this clock. The movement is complete with original bob pendulum and contemporary spandrel, chapter ring and name plate, the case has later seat board and signs of restoration to the case.
A French Silver-Gilt Twin Handled Cup and Cover, maker's mark indistinct, Paris 1st standard, 1819-1838, the bowl on acanthus and shell support to a square pedestal base with four foliate shell bracket feet, gadroon borders, the cover engraved with a Duke's coronet, the bowl with twin crests being that of a unicorn's head erased, and a boar's head erased, within the motto surround Nemo Me Impune Lacessit, and Order of the Thistle collar, probably for Innes-Ker, Dukes of Roxburghe, 26cm high, 23oz 2dwt Provenance: The Estate of Mrs R D Peacock
An Unusual Early Victorian Irish Silver Three Piece Tea Service, R W Smith, Dublin, 1838, of squat circular form, profusely decorated in the chinoiserie manner with panels featuring figures and pagodas, within C scroll borders, the cover of the teapot with a China man finial, all with foliate scroll handles and on decorative foliate shell bracket feet, engraved with a crest of an arm in armour holding a sword, the teapot 31cm long handle to spout, 66oz 16dwt (3)
A Japanese Ivory and Shibayama Table Screen (Tsuitate), Meiji period, the two leaves inlaid with an eagle perched in a tree, monkeys below, the reverse with a river landscape over foliate pierced panels within frames gilt with mons and foliage, on bracket feet, bears signatures, 30cm high See illustration. Tail section of eagle missing. One section of foliage missing. Other tiny losses. Both panels with shrinkage related splits approx 2-2.5cm long visible from reverse. One white metal corner mount missing. Hinges loose. Some typical shrinkage related widening of joints. Some surface staining and minor wear. 310518

A George III Ebony Striking Table Clock, signed John Fletcher, London, circa 1780, ebony veneered case with an inverted bell top pediment, carrying handle and acorn finials, pierced wooden side sound frets, bracket feet, 7-inch brass dial, matted dial centre with date aperture and a recessed silvered plaque signed, arch with strike/silent selection, twin fusee movement with verge escapement and rack striking on a bell, movement backplate elaborately engraved throughout with scroll borders and a central pagoda scene, bob pendulum, movement secured in by brackets, 51.5cm high see illustrations . 18.06.18, Case with small scratches and dents in parts, some veneers have been changed in parts and ebonised to match the ebony veneers, sides with cracks to veneers, brass mounts are discoloured, silvered dials are discoloured in parts, later pieced side frets, back door with scuff marks around the key hole, movement plates look dirty, movement is striking and in going order.
A Small Mahogany Quarter Striking Table Clock, signed Grimalde & Johnson Strand, London, circa 1820, arched pediment, front and sides with Greek key brass inlay and ebony inlaid stringing and details, beehive feet, 6-inch brass silvered dial with Roman numerals, serpentine hands, twin fusee movement with an anchor escapement, quarter striking with two hammers striking two graduated bells and striking the hours on the larger bell, movement backplate with engraved borders and signed, movement secured in by two brackets see illustration Grimalde & Johnson were in partnership and working at the Strand in London between 1810-1825. For similar examples of this clock by this maker, see Brader (CR) The Georgian Bracket Clock 1714-1830, pgs 194 and 206 . 18.06.18, Case has been polished throughout, top side of the case with small cracks, back door moulding appears later, case sides with small cracks, dial is clean, movement is striking and in going order.
A Mahogany Eight Day Longcase Clock with Half Hour Passing Strike, signed John Dickman, North Shore, Sunderland, 1816, arched pediment with three brass ball finials, arched trunk with inlaid stringing and flanked by inset pilasters, bracket feet, 13-inch circular white painted dial with Roman numerals, seconds and date dials, four pillar movement with an anchor escapement, rack hour striking on a bell and passing strike on a smaller bell, 220cm high see illustration . 19.06.18, Hood right hand side moulding is chipped to the back corner, plinth is slightly faded and chipped to the top left hand side corner and with a crack, feet with scuff marks, dial is discoloured and rubbed, movement is dirty and needs cleaning, with pendulum and two weights.
A Regency Mahogany Eight Day Longcase Clock, signed Barwise, London, arched pediment with wooden ball finials, fluted canted corners, nicely figured arched trunk door flanked with 3/4 length fluted pilasters, moulded plinth with bracket feet, 12-inch circular silvered dial with Roman numerals and signed, two dials for seconds and date, strike/silent selection lever above 12, five pillar movement with anchor escapement and rack striking on a bell, wooden pendulum rod with a large bob and rating nut, brass cased weights, 200cm high see illustration . 20.06.18, Hood with the central finial missing, right hand side finial is loose and chipped to the lower edge, both side frets are missing, left hand side fret with its frame moulding missing, case is faded in parts, trunk door with a later added large lock escutcheon plate, front of the plinth with cracks and the wood is slightly lifting, moulding to the plinth with chips, veneers are lacking to the plinth and skirting, plinth left hand side with a black residue staining mark, dial is discoloured and needs silvering, movement is dirty, movement in going order.
