A good Japanese applied-bronze Jar, c.1880, of drum form, depicting a panoramic view of the Temple of the Golden Pavilion, well applied with houses, boats and figures, the pavilions with sliding shutters, in silver, copper and gold and resting on three bracket feet, engraved Dai Nihon, Kyoto, Kin Kaku ju (Temple of the Golden Pavilion) Kosei saku, 11.5cm diameter CONDITION REPORT: Although called 'jar', this is somewhat untrue as the top does not remove, it is fixed. It is more like decorative stand of drum form. The interior with signature. No obvious faults visible.

A lacquer low Table, 19th century, with two thatched houses under pine and prunus and with bamboo and rocks, all in tones of gold in nashiji, kirikane and maki-e, promontories amongst clouds in the distance, four bracket feet, one repaired, corners with engraved mounts, wear, dents, 39 x 63.3 cm CONDITION REPORT: Each raised side with some knocks and chipping. Base of the image with a chip just off centre. Scratch mark to the right hand side of base of image. Right hand leg has been broken and glued. All legs have small chip marks to gilding and small knocks. Gilt rubbing and small scratches throughout the main field.
