Provenance: The Estate of the late Sir David Davenport-Handley, Clipsham Hall, Clipsham, Rutland.
A 19th century Dutch walnut bombé chest, the shaped top above four long drawers, 88 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by RB Top split, some mouldings to the top missing, split, scratches and staining, the split pin handles and escutcheons look original, front right foot bracket having a section missing, sides with some splitting, the bombé shaped wings with scratches and knocks. Probably 18th century. From a titles deceased estate, clearly in a market fresh condition, now requiring some restoration
A late 18th/early 19th century mahogany double sided book rack/trough, on bracket feet with brass casters, 60 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by RB Generally a good to fair colour, rather than being a really good mahogany finish. Slight split to the central vertical divider, quite a bit of general wear, where the sides have been fixed to the horizontal and vertical dividers the plugs to hide the screwheads have a couple missing, there is an area of inlay to the bottom part of the divider, where a knot was, there is some fading to the wood generally, and slight loss to the bottom moulding, just above he shaped apron, with super little stumpy brass casters, nice and clean underneath, 55 cm high x 37 cm deep
A mid 19th century oak and mahogany eight day longcase clock, circa 1840, inscribed 'George Smith, Derby', the hood with a swan neck pediment, fitted with a glazed door set between turned columns and opening to reveal a white enamelled dial, with Roman numerals and painted scenes to top and corners, inscribed to middle, with two further subsidiary dials, the case door set between canted corners and enclosing two weights and pendulum, raised on a projecting base and standing on bracket feet, 228 cm high.
A Rare Fine Quality Maghogany Geological Classical Specimen Cabinet, recently removed from a school museum, repolished recently. Comprises 8 specimen drawers with glazed vitrine drawers. With late brass pull handles and replacement carrying handle to the side. Original handles included, raised on short bracket feet, lift up compartment to the top of unusual size. 30 inches high, 27 inches, 17 inches deep.

A George III mahogany toilet mirror with oval swing plate and three drawers in the serpentine base, edged overall with ebony and satinwood rope twist banding on ogee bracket feet, 41cm Further Information This lot is in superb condition and appears to have been very well looked after. There is very little to comment on in terms of damages. On the central drawer there is a very slight crack near to the keyhole. On the actual keyhole itself, there is a slight crack also. The feet are all secure and intact. There are a couple of very minor scratches on the body of the mirror. The mirror frame has a few cracks to the trim that hold the mirror in place, however, they are not very noticeable. The mirror itself is in good condition and shows little signs of age or wear. We have attached additional images to show the aforementioned points and to provide a better idea of the condition.

There are one or two minor bumps or scratches but structurally it is in great condition. The only thing that lets this lot down is the mirror where it looks quite worn around the edges.

A George II mahogany bureau the sloping flap enclosing a fitted interior above two short and three graduated long drawers on bracket feet, 102cm Further Information The condition of this lot is good. I personally cannot see any signs of restoration or any major damage, There are the odd scratched but only minor really. There is a slight blemish on the top of the bureau. All the handles appear to be original.
A George III mahogany serpentine chest with moulded serpentine top and four graduated long drawers on bracket feet, 94cm wide Further Information Top drawer possibly re lined, otherwise ok for age. Damages noticed are the scratches and blemishes to the chest. There does not appear to be any breaks or splits. There is a very small split on the right hand side at the bottom but it is only a very slight one. There is a break in the back panel that you should be able to see in the additional images attached.

We can not see any restoration taking place. There are a number of minor scratches/blemishes across the chest. Some of the beading/trim is damaged on the drawers but other than the things mentioned previously we believe the chest is in good condition. All the handles appear to be original and in tact.
