A sterling silver desktop rectangular mirror within a large heavily cast Classical theme depicting three putti, arrows, and flames, amongst flowers, with bracket back, the mirror 7 x 8cm, the frame 16 x 18cm, approx. 478g (including glass and back)Condition Report: Stamped 'Sterling Silver' as part of the casting to the lower right of the mirror. There are no other hallmarks.
Victorian pitch-pine cabinet, labelled Kingfisher Ltd., West Bromwich, glazed panelled doors to the upper section enclosing three shelves, over a cupboard base, bracket feet, width 147cm, depth 49cm, height 210cm. William IV mahogany bookcase cabinet, matched, the top with key and cavetto cornice, astragal glazed doors enclosing three fixed shelves, the base with arched panelled cupboards, bracket feet, width 105cm, depth 43cm, height 217cm.Condition report:Moulding missing around bookcase top. Veneer cracks to the arch section of the doors. Otherwise reasonably good. Please see additional images.

Escutcheons replaced. Splits to oak drawer bottoms. Right end marked and over-stained.
Pair of Zlonay style table pedestals, ebonised wooden plinths and bases, 22cm; a Black Forest carved gong bracket, in the form of a donkey head, stamped 'R.E & S', (one glass eye missing) 28cm; a pair of small ceramic candlestands; and a pair of Victorian rosewood frames, overall 26x30cm.Condition report:Donkey head approxinate measurements - height 28cm, width 17cm, depth 22cm.
William Payne, Hadleigh an oak longcase, having an eight-day duration movement striking the hours on a bel with the twelve-inch painted break-arch dial having black Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials, blued-steel decorative hands and signed to the arch Wm. Payne, Hadleigh, the oak case having an arched trunk door, brass capitals to the fluted hood pillars, a break-arch top and standing on shaped bracket feet, height 207cm. Notes: William Payne was born in Hadleigh, Suffolk in July 1749 ad was a member of the well-known clockmaking Payne family. He was apprenticed to Nathaniel Hedge of Colchester for seven years from 20th July 1763 for a fee of £12. In July 1770 he was admitted a Free Burgess of Colchester and returned to Hadleigh where he opened a shop. From circa 1814 he was no longer working having become an invalid with his wife Ann and son John running the business.Reference: Arthur L. Ralph Banks, Plymouth Dock, a mahogany Regency triple pad-top bracket clock having an eight-day duration, five-pillar double fusee movement with anchor escapement striking the hours on a bell with pull hour repeat, with the eight-inch painted convex dial having black Roman numerals, blued steel running loops hands and indistinctly signed R. Banks, Plymouth Dock, the mahogany case with brass-bound triple-pad to the top, brass fishscale frets to the sides and below the dial, brass ball feet and surmounted by a cast-brass handle, height 42cm, handle down. Note: Ralph Banks is recorded as working in Catherine Street, Plymouth Dock, Devon from at least December 1782 when he married Rebecca Palmer Collings at Stoke Damarel church. He 'bought-in' many of his good quality clocks and watches, mainly from London with his suppliers including John Thwaites. A silver watch signed for Banks was reported lost in January 1795. By 1812 the business was recorded under the name Rebecca Banks with the address given as Fore Street, Dock. Reference: Clive N. Ponsford Devon Clocks & Clockmakers Pub: David & Charles 1985.
