19th century mahogany moon face longcase clock by W.B. Cornforth, Macclesfield, with swan neck pediment and ball finial, over painted arched face depicting the seasons, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, flanked by reeded columns, boxwood strung trunk, shaped door, plinth base, canted corners, on bracket feet, 240cm high.
Victorian gilt overmantel mirror, the moulded floral frame flanked by floral brackets, 142cm wide and 106cm high.CONDITION REPORT: There are sections of the floral moulding lacking. The gilding is flaking and peeled off. The left bracket is loose and there are cracks to the base of the bracket. The glass plate is mottled. Internal measurements (glass plate) 95cm x 99cm.
19th century oak and specimen wood longcase clock by Glase, Bridgnorth, anchor escapement striking bell, the swan neck pediment flanked by finials over painted arched face, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, baluster turned half columns, shaped trunk door, plinth base and bracket feet, 227cm high.
Regency mahogany and inlaid longcase clock by Bagnall, Gloucester, the arched hood mounted by finials, metal face, Roman and Arabic numerals, ticking ship, flanked by spiral columns, shell inlaid trunk door, stepped base, bracket feet, anchor escapement striking bell, 219cm high.CONDITION REPORT: Mahogany cornice is later. The veneer is lacking to the marquetry. There are cracks around the trunk door. The veneer to the base has been patched. There are packers under seat board. Well presented but not entirely original.
A George III mahogany and marquetry inlaid slopefront writing bureau, the sloping fall with satinwood and harewood inlays within satinwood and ebony strung border, opening to reveal well-fitted interior with satinwood and harewood fronted drawers, all above four long graduated drawers inlaid with floral garlands, all raised on later bracket feet, w.93cm, d.49cm, h.104cm.Replaced section to lower corner of one side.Handles are replacement.Repairs above both fall hinges.Split to top left corner.Fall good.Closes well but slightly bowed, which is only really noticeable from above.Drawers run well.Otherwise very good with modest age wear only.Feet are later.Completely unpolished, requires a good clean.
Owen Evans of Llanwnda - a 19th century mahogany longcase clock, having a broken swept pediment, twin fluted pilasters flanking arched brass 13" dial, signed to the arch and having rolling moon dial, brass main dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, date aperture, scroll leaf engraved centre, twin winding holes for a brass eight day four pillar weight driven movement striking on a bell, the 'London' case probably being associated and having fluted pilasters flanking crossbanded door, to a further panelled boxbase, on ogee bracket feet, h.233cm
An antique walnut bachelors chest of small proportions, having a fold-over top with cross and featherbanding over four long graduated drawers, each featherbanded and with brass petal escutcheons, all raised on bracket feet, w.64cm, h.74cm, d.33cm.The proportions are wrong as top drawer is deeper than the following drawers.No wear to drawer bottoms, so we believe possibly made-up in the late 19th century.Veneers quite thin.Top with thicker veneers but not period.Locks and handles all late 19th century.
Brown of Maidstone - a Victorian mahogany bracket clock, the case with applied acanthus leaf carvings, enclosing signed silvered dial (lacking glass), twin winding holes for an eight day brass gut driven fusee movement, with anchor escapement and striking on a bell, the case with further pierced brass sound grilles, all raised on bun feet, h.43cmCondition report: Lacks glass. Rear door loose.
