18th century and later stained and carved 30-hour long case clock, R Henderson - Scarborough, the case with overhanging cornice to a carved frieze to a door with carved panels and flanked by bobbin type columns to a moulded throat and long shaped trunk door and further plinth with bracket base, also heavily carved to a 10 ins square brass dial with winged mask and foliate spandrels enclosing a Roman chapter ring with inside quarters track and half hour marker to a matted centre with three ringed arbors and single pierced hand, to a movement with plates united by four knopped pillars and with back mounted count wheel and anchor escapement strike on a bell, height 75 ins
Citroen Traction Avant Long wheel Base 1952 - This lovely 1952 Citroen Traction has recently been imported from near Bordeaux in France from where the vendor completed a trouble free drive. As such you can understand it when he describes the general mechanics, engine and gearbox as all good.Having been in the long term ownership of the local taxi company’s owner during which time he completed a restoration including a rebuilt engine, which has covered apx 500 miles since. Work on the body and interior was completed a few years back and is still in very good condition, with some of the non-replaced trims showing a lovely patina of age.Although not required the car has had a UK Mot carried out and comes with all its correct French papers and a “Nova” certificate, so is ready to be registered if sold to a UK buyer. A George III ebonised bracket clock, by Robert Ward, Abchurch Lane, London, the domed 6 3/4 inch brass face with matte centre and signature to inset plate, engraved brass chapter ring with black Roman numerals, minute markers and five-minute Arabic numerals, with subsidiary dial and date aperture, steel foliate hands, applied cast floral spandrels, 8-day twin train fusee movement with verge escapement, rise and fall regulation, striking on a bell, with pull repeat, 'S' and 'N' (strike/silent) lever at the three o'clock position through dial, with a foliate engraved back plate and pear shaped bob pendulum, the case with caddy top and carrying handle, cast metal fretwork and meshing to the sides and glazed rear door, raised on four brass ogee bracket feet, with three keys, 20 by 29 by 42cm high.
A Victorian burr walnut mantel clock by Lenzkirch,1 Million, with a 15cm silvered chapter ring, winged masked spandrels, the two train movement stamped Lenzkirch, striking on two gongs, the case with an architectural pediment, leafy fluted frieze, outset leaf carved corbels, raised upon a plinth base and bracket feet, 26 by 18.5 by 34cm high.
A George III mahogany and inlaid long case clock the engraved dial signed on an applied banner William Newby, Kendal, with cast angel spandrels, centrally later painted with Chinese scenes in coloured enamels, twin train 8 day movement with anchor escapement, the hood with broken swan neck pediment set with brass rosettes and an orb surmount, the trunk with inlaid swags, scrolls and harebells, raised on a plinth base with shaped bracket feet, 46 by 23 by 201cm high.
A George I oak bureau, with fall front fitted with moulded decoration and pierced brass escutcheon, interior fitted with a series of six pigeon holes and six drawers, with 'secret' sliding compartment, below two short over two long graduating drawers with brass plate swan neck handles and pierced brass escutcheons, raised on ogee bracket feet, 94 by 58 by 110cm high. Note: of considerable weight.
A 19th century walnut Savonarola chair, the back carved with crests, animals and armorials, squared and carved arms with ball ends, one with carved ring attached, the seat carved with circular star burst motif in a square frame, typical X frame consisting of eight interlocked frames, on shaped feet, later metal supporting bracket to back, 70 by 55 by 98cm high.
