1031 A French `Giant` brass repeater carriage clock Late 19th / early 20th century, with partially rubbed retailer mark to dial ``Edward & Sons / G *****``(probably Glasgow), stamped to back ``Made in France`` bottom left and ``153`` bottom right, an ``F`` on each side, and ``14`` to door, top marked ``RA`` with red diamond, the swing handle over a beveled glass plate and gilt brass rectangular case with Corinthian columns and ripple galleries enclosing a white enamel dial with black Roman numerals and blued hands, raised on a rectangular plinth on bracket feet, the twin barrel movement with large silvered platform to the cut bimetallic balance with lever escapement, strike on gong to the back plate, with key, 10.25`` H x 5.5`` W x 4.5`` D, est: $3000/5000 Note: Height includes handle. Height not including handle: 8.5``. Provenance: Property from the Estate of Dr. Robert Schiffman; acquired from the Dr. Eugene and Rose Antelis Collection of Important French Carriage Clocks, sold Christies, South Kensington, 1998. 1056 An Italian Renaissance style carved walnut cabinet 18th century with early 20th century elements, the rectangular top with molded edge over five frieze drawers over a pair of hinged paneled doors enclosing a shelf, raised on paw feet to the front and bracket feet to the rear, 34.75`` H x 45`` W x 17`` D, est: $1000/2000 Provenance: Property from a Private Collection, Orange County, CA. Condition: General marks, scratches, rubbed wear, nicks, gouges and losses commensurate with age and use, including a 1`` x 5`` loss along rear edge of right-hand side panel. Some elements are later-added replacements dating to the early 20th century including: a 2.5``-wide strip running the entire width of the top along the rear edge, a 19``-long strip of the molding along the front edge of the top, the dentil frieze along the front, the interior side panels, the rear panel, and the rear bracket feet. A 6`` x 1.5`` wedge-shaped restoration to top near rear. The front paw feet are likely later-added replacements, but also show signs of age. There are also later-added reinforcements to the underside and rear, and possible other later-added elements to carcass. Old woodworm damage to carcass. Fine quality Chinese silver tea caddy of hexagonal form with central embossed panel, depicting the dragon chasing the pearl of enlightenment, alongside another panel with embossed Chinese characters and four other panels with floral and foliate decoration, detachable cover with engraved Chinese characters, on four bracket feet, underside with Chinese character mark and stamped - W H 9 0 (circa 1900), possibly Wang Hing. All at approximately 5ozs, 12cm overall height CONDITION REPORT General overall condition excellent. Some surface scratching and minor dents commensurate with age. No signs of any visible damage or repair

A Regency mahogany and inlaid secretaire bookcase, the dentil cornice above twin glazed panel doors, the base fitted a secretaire drawer above three long drawers on splay bracket feet, 209cm (82.25") high/see illustration Provenance: Private Collection, Wiltshire. To be sold without reserve. Condition Report: The returns to the base suggest that this is a marriage, although the bookcase is contemporary, and there are many differences between the two sections including inlay and other decoration. Generally tired condition, the secretaire drawer is stiff and there is a split to bottom of right hand leg, one glazed panel is broken and partly missing to the left door, and the top centre pane of the right door has a crack
A George III mahogany linen press, the broken swan neck pediment above oval panel doors, the base fitted two short and two long drawers on bracket feet (losses), 206cm (81") high/see illustration/Provenance: Private Collection, Wiltshire. To be sold without reserve. Condition Report: The panel doors have some splitting and all but one of the patera spandrels are missing, the RHS cornice return is split with some pieces missing deep scratches to left hand side, swan-neck returns are in poor condition with moulding missing in places. The drawer linings of this piece are mahogany and the handles now on this piece are at least the third set.
