A Fabulous Quality George III Satinwood Balloon Clock by John Leroux (Circa 1750-1805). The silvered 6¾ inch (17 cm) diameter dial signed J. Leroux Charing Cross and engraved J. Leroux London on the back-plate. The splendid ripple-grained case surmounted by a square pagoda pediment with gilt brass urn finial . The front adorned with a gilt metal mount cast with a sunburst face mask above laurel garlands. The arched, moulded base raised on gilded ogee bracket feet 21½ ins (54 cms) in height.

The matted gilt chapter ring mounted upon a black velvet ground with gilt lined winding holes, finely pierced & engraved pointers and an ornamental mount below cast with an urn cascading foliage and cornucopia of fruit. The breakfront pilasters inlaid with silver embellishments and stringing below Corinthian style capitals. The caddy top surmounted by flaming urn finials above a pierced frieze of gilt spindles, 23¾ ins (60 cms) high 13¼ ins (34 cms) wide. The bracket supports of four broken scroll arms adorned with wrythen rosettes, pendant garlands, stiff leaves & crowned female face masks, and fanning out from a Satyr`s head, 13¼ ins (34 cms) high, 16 ins (41 cms) wide.

A Fabulous Late 16th/Early 17th Century Spanish Walnut Vargueno on Stand. The fall front opens out to reveal an architectonic fitted interior with eleven graduated drawer fronts all similarly fashioned with projected arcading emphasised by barley-twist columns; the inlaid panels of ivory painted to simulate faceted ovals and diamonds with fine gilt interlinked borders centred by protruding iron scallop shell handles. Two doors with twin scroll pediments flanking similarly ornamented drawers that incorporate secret sliding compartments. The solid walnut carcass adorned with gilt open strap-work panels & an impressive central lock plate with a twin column pinnacled clasp. The trestle stand incorporating two large scallop shell lopers that slide out to reveal the carved monogram HR. The two spiral twisted and fluted baluster legs united by an arcaded support adjoining bracket plinth feet with gilt scroll terminals. 57 ins (145 cms) in height, 41½ ins (106 cms) in width, 20 ins (51 cms) in depth.
