A late 18th Century oak and mahogany cross-banded cottage long case clock, the hood surmounted by a scroll arch pediment and three brass acorn finials above fluted columns, enclosing a painted dial with 30 hour movement striking on a gong, above a trunk door and box base, raised on bracket supports, 218cm overall
Three Rectangular Brass Tobacco Boxes: One with a bevelled lid centred by a raised knop and standing on a moulded base with protuberant lion paw feet, 5 ins (12 cms) ins height, 4½ ins x 2½ ins (11.5 cms x 6.5 cms). One with swept chamfer sides leading down to a plinth base with bracket feet, and having a bevelled lid centred by an acorn finial measuring 6½ ins (16 cms) in height, 4¼ ins x 3¼ ins (11 cms x 8.5 cms). One with a centre knop surmounting a bevelled lid and plain box sides, 5½ ins (14 cms) in height, 5½ ins x 4 ins (14 cms x 10 cms).
A Collection of Wrought Iron Ware: An 18th Century Wrought Iron Loom Light, the candle socket on a looped arm forming a hook topped pendant rod, 16 ins (41 cms) drop. A Wrought Iron Candle Holder with twin pronged handle, the square drip tray centred by the cylindrical candle socket and attached to the flat handle & prong. 14 ins (36 cms) in length, the drip tray measuring 3 x 4½ ins (7.5 cms x 11.5 cms). An 18th Century Wrought Iron Wall Mounted Candle Bracket, the adjustable sconce sliding up and down a vertical rod with a ball finial to the top, the arm extending by four interlocking sections measuring 21 ins (43 cms) with a small circular drip tray and candle socket, 20 ins (51 cms) in height. And A Cast Iron Fleur de Lis Finial. 8½ ins x 4½ ins (21.5 cms x 11.5 cms).
A Miniature 19th Century Pine Blanket Box & Chest of Drawers. The box having applied edge moulding to the top and raised on a shaped base rail with bracket feet. 6 ins (15 cms) high, 11½ ins (29 cms) wide, 7½ ins (19 cms) deep. A Small 17th Century Boarded Oak Coffer, the long rectangular lid opening to reveal a candle-box interior. The front incised with lozenges issuing tulip heads & bordered by four punchwork crosses. The centre bearing the initials T.B and raised on front bracket feet. 17½ ins (44 cms) in height, 49 ½ ins x 13½ ins (126 cms x 34 cms).
A Small 17th Century Oak Coffer. The long rectangular lid having a chip carved edge. The front carved with two large lunettes framing fanned palms & a floral bloom. The cross-hatched spandrels & small central lunette bordered by incised decoration. Standing on bracket feet. 16 ins (41 cms) in height. 45 ins x 14 ins (115 cms x 36 cms).
A Rare 17th Century Oak Chair-Table. The round planked top/back inscribed with the owners initials; E.H and dated 1668. The shaped bracket supports pivoted to the seat with knopped pegs, the arms incised with wispy scrolls and chipe carved rosette whorls to the terminals above short column turned supports. The engrailed box seat with a butterfly hinged lid above a lunette carved rail and a panel of flower-headed C-scrolls. The top measuring 33 ins (84 cms) in diameter. 25 ins (63 cms) high, 20 ins (51 cms) wide, 18 ins (46 cms) deep. A 16th/17th Century Italian Walnut Prie Dieu. The box-form top having a moulded cornice with rising lid above a gadrooned frieze. The cupboard back with a chip carved band above a central door flanked by long rectangular moulded panels. The lower boxed base section/kneeling platform having a lid retaining a decorative poker work border and moulded base raised on bracket feet. 37 ins (94 cms) in height, 21¼ ins (54 cms) in width, 27¼ ins (69 cms) deep.
A Pair of 18th Italian Walnut MarquetryTables, Circa 1720. Each stand having a thick rectangular top inlaid with flowers joined by scrolling stems of foliage, above a slim nulled frieze and plain drawer. The box column having front & back panels inlaid with a central crest framed by a diamond and moulded outer borders. The base inlaid with a zig-zag motif and large ovolu moulded edges above shaped bracket feet. 27 ins (69 cms) in height, 28 ins x 16 ins (71 cms x 40 cms).
A Georgian Oak 'Rocking-Ship' Longcase Clock with eight day movement. The 13 inch (33 cm) painted dial with chapter ring encircling subsidiary seconds dial & calendar aperture. The arch top depicting a coastal scene with castle and housing a rocking-ship. The hood having a swan neck pediment with rosette terminals flanking a brass urn finial. The arched & glazed door inlaid with ornamental stringing and fronted by two slender fluted pillars. The cavetto moulded cornice above a cross-banded trunk door with shaped top inlaid with chequer stringing and an ebony & boxwood compass star, flanked by recessed fluted quarter columns. The moulded base having corresponding inlay and terminating on low bracket feet. 89 ins (226 cms) in height, 16½ ins (42 cms) wide, 9 ins (23 cms) deep.
Good and early mahogany miniature double fusee bracket clock, the engraved back plate fitted with a large cylinder wheel, striking on a bell, the 2" convex white dial inset into a gilded surround embossed with musical instruments and stylised foliage, within a moulded arched case with gilded arched side panels, surmounted by a pad top and acanthus sheath carrying handle, 8.5" high
Good English mahogany double fusee bracket clock, the back plate with fine foliate engraving and the movement striking on a bell, the 6.75" arched silvered dial signed Robert Ward, Abchurch Lane, London, to the floral engraved arch with strike/silent and subsidiary seconds dials over a matted centre with calendar aperture within a stepped case, with glazed sides and pierced brass circular sound holes, surmounted by a caddy top and brass carrying handle, 20.5" high
Ebonised and ormolu mounted double fusee bracket clock, the back plate signed Payne & Co., 163 New Bond St. London no. 3250, striking on a gong, the 7" square brass dial with planished centre and silvered chapter ring; also signed Payne & Co., within a stepped case surmounted by a floral repousse caddy top and four foliate finials, 18.5" high
Maple two train ting tang bracket clock, the Lenzkirch movement striking the hours and quarters on two gongs, the 4.5" brass dial with silvered chapter ring and matted centre, within a stepped case with fluted canted corners, surmounted by a bell top with brass handle and four urn finials, 16" high
A GEORGE III MAHOGANY BRACKET CLOCK the silvered break arch dial with strike/silent to the arch above a roman dial with subsidiary seconds, signed Robert Wood, London, the verge escapement with bell strike and pull repeat, border engraved and signed back plate. The bell top case with gilt metal handle and pineapple finials above foliate scroll side frets and ogee bracket feet, 18 ½" high.
A GEORGE III MAHOGANY LONG CASE CLOCK with break arch pediment and carved rose decoration, the dial with moon phase and second hand and painted flower decoration, signed James Waugh, Armagh No. 30, eight day striking mechanism, case with shaped panel door, fluted pilasters and canted corners, on bracket feet, 87" high overall (see illustration).
