An early 19th century mahogany secrétaire chest, the top drawer with pull-down front enclosing fitted compartments and door, above two short over two long drawers, raised on bracket feet, width 115cm, depth 55.5cm, height 106cm.Additional InformationLosses to the veneer, heavy wear, water damage. The pull-down front is slightly stiff, various handles missing to the interior. The door has come loose from the secrétaire front.
A George III oak high back dresser, the open three tier plate rack with pierced side details, on base with a moulded top, two short drawers and three graduated long drawers to the centre and two arched top cupboard doors, on bracket feet, height 192cm, width 176cm, depth 54cm.Additional InformationThe top may not be original to the base though they have been together for some time, some of the timbers to the top may be later replacements, the top plank of the base has some old marks, lighter marks, blemishes, general scuffs, etc, the handles to the drawers are not original and general expected age wear patina throughout the base, despite faults overall appearance ok.The top is definitely a replacement, side bracket foot is missing from the left side, replacement handles and escutcheon, hinges are replacement, no apparent worm.

The bell finial is missing a section. The white paint is later. There are splits including to the left front door, the backboards and the slatted roof section. Overall it is robust in form. The curtains and pelmets are missing from the windows with holes showing where they once were. The cracks to the backboards are visible to the interior of the rooms. The paper to the hallway and landing is curling and lifting. The paper to the blue room is scratched and torn. The paper to the pale pink room is bubbled. The paper to the red room has a velour pattern and has some ware, in particular to the front edges. The kitchen is painted in drab with markings of the later white paint. The floors of the rooms are red baize, blue mosquette and painted, all worn. ContentsSome of the items including a fire place, two wash stands and a stove possibly by Evans and Cartwright. Also, a Lucas Ltd, 420 series oil-powered off-side mounted lamp, with all fittings, but without a tightening screw. Both in serviceable condition, but with some solder and dents showing. (2)

Jules Moigniez (French, 1835-1894), a 19th century silvered and parcel gilt bronze jewellery casket, signed 'J. Moigniez', in the baroque style with twin handles, decorated with a bird and her two chicks, raised on six floral bracket feet, velvet lined interior, 5¾in. (14.6cm.) high, tarnished. * Provenance: The Sladmore Gallery, London, 1968. A similar casket was exhibited by Moigniez at the Great Exhibition in London, 1862. ** Condition: Silvered finish tarnished, a little gilt wear. Otherwise in good condition.
