Doors are warped. No keys. Frieze below cornice appears to be a different patina to the rest.

CONDITION REPORT Crack to veneer and possibly carcass beneath to front right hand top corner, also marks commensurate with age, one handle off bottom draw and one handle not original.
SCOTTISH GEORGE III MAHOGANY CHEST OF DRAWERS LATE 18TH CENTURY the rectangular top with a moulded edge above three short frieze drawers, above three long graduated drawers, raised on bracket feet 112cm wide, 89cm high, 54cm deep Note: This unadorned, yet well-made and amply proportioned, chest of drawers is of a type known as the 'Dumfries House Maker', after those supplied to Dumfries House in Ayrshire by a heretofore unidentified Scottish cabinet maker.
GEORGE II MAHOGANY LINEN PRESS MID 18TH CENTURY the projecting moulded cornice above a plain frieze and pair of shaped moulded panel doors opening to sliding tray shelves and a hanging rail, the base with two short and a long drawer, raised on shaped bracket feet 129cm wide, 182cm high, 58cm deep Note: The present lot bears similarities, particularly to the shape of the door panels, to a press cupboard sold in these rooms, 30th March 2011 , lot 260, which bore the trade label for Philip Bell, London. Philip Bell's father, Henry, founded the family business in 1736 at the White Swan, St. Paul's Church Yard. Philip took over the firm following his father's death in 1740. Like his contemporary, Giles Grendey, Bell favoured complex re-entrant panels and the use of high quality well-figured timbers.

The motto is also that of the Earl of Kerry and the Marquess of Lansdowne.
