A FINE EDWARDIAN INLAID-MAHOGANY LONG-CASE CLOCK in the Sheraton Revival style, the hood with swan-necked pediment and brass ball-and-spire finial, Corinthian columns with gilt-brass capitals and base-mounts, fretted panels to the sides, the front inlaid in boxwood and harewood with a central urn within foliate scrollwork, the trunk having an oval glazed panel to the front with similar scrollwork spandrels, and rectangular glazing to the sides, the base also similarly inlaid, on shallow bracket feet, the 8-day three-train movement striking and chiming on nine tubular gongs, having a brass and silvered arched dial with Arabic hour numerals to the chapter ring, subsidiary seconds dial to centre, "Strike/Silent" and "Whittington/Westminster" selection dials to the arch, and having cherub-and-scroll spandrels and similar scrollwork ornament to the centre, the whole 249cm, (98in) high, (complete with three brass-covered weights, pendulum with brass bob and crank key
