dating: late 18th Century provenance: Turkey, Two-stage, octagonal and round, 15.5 mm cal. barrels in quality damask. Tang of the barrels silver-inlaid and engraved with floral motifs. Flintlocks decorated in European style, with plates with oblique borders, recessed tang, engraved to imitate the signature in block letters, small engraved drawings. Cocks shaped as swan's neck. Pans with sealing system and batteries with anti-friction spring. In working order. Briar-root, full stocks (one with restored block next to the lock), partially covered with silver foils, engraved and pierced. Grips all covered with a long, silver mount on the back, engraved and pierced with flowers. Various silver plaques alongside, engraved and pierced en suite, so as the counter-plates. Silver mounts. Trigger-guards with rocaille in relief, butt-plates carved with rocaille so as the trigger-guards and with a rosette and button finely relieved on the bottom. Silver barrel bracket and muzzle ring. Iron-tipped wooden ramrods, one also with cartridge extractor. Rare in such a high quality. length 54 cm.
dating: late 18th Century provenance: Piedmont, Round, smooth-bore, 17 mm cal. barrel, with two stamps and frame at the base, clutch for a bayonet, fore-sight on the barrel bracket; flintlock with flat plate, with Vittorio Amedeo III of Savoy stamp. Wooden, full stock with iron mounts and ramrod. length 141 cm.
dating: second quarter of the 18th Century provenance: Vienna, Smooth-bore, round, damask, 16 mm cal. barrel, with square base, the gilded signature 'JOSEPH HAMERL IN WIEN' at the rib, the first part engraved and decorated with gilded filigree, swallow-tailed silver and gold foresight, pierced and gilded barrel-bracket with wide sight; the tang engraved en suite; flintlock with flat plate, engraved with floral motifs; at the hammer bass-relieved decorations, at the batterie a high-relieved mask; wooden full stock slightly carved with racemes; gilded brass mounts, engraved and partially pierced with bands and floral motifs, and Diana's bust at the butt-plate; at the neck the royal Bavarian coat of arms with the Golden Fleece. Brass-tipped flexible ramrod with iron cartridge extractor. length 145 cm.
dating: first quarter of the 18th Century provenance: Spanish Empire, Interesting, smooth-bore, 20 mm cal. barrel, with octagonal base, with remains of gilded marks with arrows and cross, another big, square mark at the breech, gilded and unreadable. Two, silver-inlaid snakes alongside. Round second part of the barrel, provided with a finely relieved rib that is detached from a chiselled arrow's tip and runs until the nozzle, bell-mouthed and provided with silver-plated moulded muzzle. Rib is silver-inlaid with rinceaux. Two, silver flowers on the nozzle sides (tulips?), with a long stem. Barrel's tang with some silver-inlaid letters. Miquelet locks with elements chiselled with grooves. Batterie with a shell, relieved on the back. Wooden, full stock with frames with a fuller around some elements, butt of typical shape. Silver mounts (smallest parts missing), held by brass or silver nails. Two, pierced plates around the barrel's tang, and engraved with rinceaux. Grip sides with silver plates, engraved and pierced with floral motifs. Back with a sea snake. Lower part with a thick, silver plate that frames the trigger-guard. Silver butt-plate with a fine, relieved mask. Counter-plate in silver foil, engraved, and provided with a long, iron belt hook. Fine barrel bracket, engraved and pierced with an emblem of Central American style, supported by the two lions. Rare, silver-tipped, iron ramrod with anti-falling lock, that can be hinged to a barrel bracket; iron cartridge extractor. length 43,5 cm.
dating: 18th Century provenance: Scotland, Long, straight, single-edged blade, with triple fuller on both sides, marked at the forte; typical, baluster-shaped, wooden grip, decorated with relieved, Celtic knots, the central part engraved with net and iron nails, cylindrical pommel with rings. Wooden scabbard with reddish leather covering, outlined iron mounts festooned at the borders, a barrel-bracket engraved with effigy of a pine cone. length 49 cm.
A LATE 19TH CENTURY MAHOGANY BOW FRONTED CHEST OF FOUR DRAWERS, having crossbanded top, over two crossbanded inline drawers, and two further full width crossbanded drawers, each with swan neck drop handles and plain bracket feet, 78cm x 61cm Condition report: heat cracking to veneer of top & scratches on right hand side, heat cracking to veneer on both sides & small dinks to left hand side, couple of bits of veneer chipped below of work top left drawer. Nice little chest wish a little bit of work.
A PAIR OF LATE 19TH CENTURY JAPANESE FIGURAL BRONZE FOUR BRANCH CANDLEHOLDERS, both of rectangular form with foliate sconces to the four corners, one cast with a male warrior holding an axe whilst standing on the back of a large lizard, the other depicting a seated female being attended by a kneeling servant, the bases cast with figural panels to one and dragons to the other, on four scaly bracket feet, width 23cm x height 21cm (condition: both have one candleholder detached but present, both dusty)
