A 19th century French rosewood and marquetry carriage clock, 7cm rectangular dial inscribed Paul Garnier, Ho[rologie]r du Roi, Paris, Roman numerals, the movement with platform escapement, striking on a bell, the case inlaid in brass and mother of pearl with scrolling leaves and musical trophies, plinth stand with bracket feet, 19cm high, c.1870 Condition Report: Please see attached images. Cracked dial with no losses. Losses to stringing in places, one corner with replacement veneers and a replaced pegged backplate. Wear and tarnish. Fairly clean movement but not currently set up and we don't guarantee the perpetuity of any mechanism. Please see attached images. D.S.

A 19th century walnut and marquetry table-top polyphon, the horizontal mechanism playing 40cm discs, hinged cover with monochrome lithograph to verso, the case inlaid with flowers, applied with geometric moulding and carved with acanthus, bracket feet, 54cm wide, c.1890 Condition Report: Unfortunately we are unable to guarantee the working order, however, upon attempting a 'wind' a short mechanical sound is emitted, sounding like an engagement of certain components, nothing else occurs after this, see attached images for further examples of condition. Approximately 15 discs.
A 19th century Welsh crossbanded mahogany longcase clock, the 35cm circular painted dial inscribed Xavier Ganz, Swansea, Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial, twin winding holes, 8 day movement striking on a bell, the broad case with arched cresting, shaped door to waist flanked by spirally turned pillars, bracket feet, 215cm high, c.1865 Condition Report: Please see attached images. The movement looks clean and no reasons to suggest it wouldn't be in working condition when set up. A few losses and replacements to veneers. Later hood case finial. Some stable splits.
A George I Derbyshire oak longcase clock, 25.5cm square brass dial inscribed Wolley (sic) Codnor, Roman numerals, masks and leafy scrolls to spandrels, date aperture, single hand, 30 hour movement striking on a bell, the hood with outswept cornice and turned Doric columns, long rectangular door to waist with bulls-eye lenticle, bracket feet, 203cm high, c1725James Woolley was born at Breach Farm Codnor, Derbyshire in 1695 and was apprenticed 1709-1716 to John Wyld the elder of Nottingham (who later became his brother-in-law) and thereafter made clocks of increasingly high quality at Codnor (where he also farmed) until his death aged 89 in 1785. The business was continued for another generation by the sons of his brother Samuel, John and Samuel Woolley. Condition Report: Hello, this lot is in good condition, the movement is fixed on to the seat board with pins. The shape in the seatboard is oval, the back runs to the top of the widest part of the base please see attached images thank you.
A George II walnut chest on chest, moulded top above two short and three long graduated drawers, the slightly projecting base with three further long graduated drawers, outlined throughout with herringbone stringing, brass bat shaped handles and escutcheons, pine sides, skirted base, ogee bracket feet, 188cm high, 105cm wide, c.1740 Condition Report: The handles are in good condition with some sign of ageing with some scuffs to the brass, no sign of obvious restoration or repair. A George III crossbanded mahogany domed rectangular tea caddy, inlaid with batwing paterae, hinged cover with brass swan neck handle, ogee bracket feet, 26cm wide, c.1780 Condition Report: This lot is in good condition, restoration to the back left leg, splits to base, slight tarnish to the swan neck handle, no separation panels, loose to the boxwood stringing. A George III mahogany and brass mahogany bracket clock, 20cm circular dial inscribed Edward Elliott, London, 4016, Roman numerals, 8-day double-fusee movement striking on a bell, the case surmounted by a brass pineapple finial, pyramidical top, inlaid brass spandrels and twin lion mask and ring handles, pierced grills to sides, glazed door to verso, ball feet, 47.5cm high, c. 1810 Edward Elliott was of the third generation of a distinguished line of London clockmakers. His grandfather was the eminent John Ellicott, FRS (1706-1772), who was succeeded by Edward's father also Edward who died in 1791. Thereafter Edward, junior signed Edward Elliott as here until taking a partner (as Elliott & Taylor) in 1811. He was free of the Clockmakers' Company in 1795 and later served as master, dying in 1835. Condition Report: One side fret loose, o/w generally good condition

A Chinese export black and two tone gold lacquer platform dressing table mirror, second half 19th century, the later bevelled plate within a floral and zig-zag patterned border, between shaped supports and beneath an oval looped cresting, above a serpentine base with two long drawers with English 18th century handles, with shaped apron and bracket feet 88cm high, 53cm wide, 28cm deep Provenance: Christies South Kensington, 14/09/06, Lot 323 Catalogue Notes: The unusual decorative treatment of this mirror, with its distinctive zig-zag paterns with bands of grape leaf on black and peonies on gold gronds, is exemplary of the lacquerware made in Canton for the export market between 1785-1820, closely following European designs (C.Crossman, The Decorative Arts of the China Trade, Woodbridge, 1991, pp. 264-266) The beribboned Roman-medallion elements of this mirror reflects the antique fashion promoted by Messrs A. Hepplewhite & Co., The Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterers guide, 1788, pls. 70 and 71. A mirror of nearly identical design was sold anonymously, Christie's, London 30 November 2000, lot 246 (£3,407). The latter mirror was offered en suite with a Chinese-export gilt lacquer bureau-cabinet which sold for £102,750
