A 19th century mahogany chest, having a brushing slide above three short drawers, and three graduated long drawers below, on bracket feet, 106 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by RBTop split and with panel repairsReport by GHTop scratched with veneer cracks, a large L shaped area of replace veneer on the left hand side, and another small veneer patch on the far right hand side. Broken handle and associated parts present. Several areas of damage to cock beading and some repaired sections. Also some veneer repairs on the frieze and between the drawers. Legs quite possibly reinforced and/or replaced at some point. Varying amounts of sun fading and water damage in various places. Handles appear to be original as there are no plugged holes visible from the back. Locks possibly replaced. Missing section on backboards of around 2 inches wide. Various other chips, scratches, dents, small repairs and restorations, age related wear and small damages. Little or no obvious woodworm damage. Overall in a very much saleroom fresh condition.
A 19th century mahogany and inlaid eight day longcase clock, the hood with broken swan neck pediment above arched brass dial, silvered chapter ring with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture, inscribed 'JA. Green, Althorp', above long arched door to plinth base and bracket feet, height 225cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are two weights and a pendulum with this clock. Dial approx 31cm in diameter.
