An early 19th century mahogany miniature bowfronted chest of drawers, four drawers with brass handles, with shaped apron and bracket feet. Width 45 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: Height 30.5 cm, width 25 cm, depth 18 cm. The condition of this piece is generally extremely good. The piece could be used or resold in its current condition without the need for any repair or restoration. There has been one small veneer repair to the top left hand corner of the third drawer. The piece is really in very good order indeed.
A Regency mahogany bracket clock, in the Gothic style, with crossbanded case, silvered dial and two-train fusee movement by W. Briggs, Guildford. Height 56 cm, width 39 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock case is in extremely good condition. It is a good colour and there are no losses or any significant issues. The clock winds on both trains and appears to be striking as it should. The clock is running but tends to stop after a minute or so. We do not think there are any issues with the movement other than it being perhaps a little dry. The dial may have been resilvered but if so this has been done very professionally and in our opinion is not an issue. The pin that goes through the top of the metal pendulum strip is missing. We do not have any of the door keys but we do have a winder. The catalogue image is how the clock looks in reality.
A William IV mahogany gentleman's press, with pair of panelled doors enclosing pullout trays, the base fitted with two short and two long graduated drawers with brass and mahogany knob handles, with shaped apron beneath and raised on splayed bracket feet. The cornice is in good order. The doors are of good colour with no significant warping. They close as they should. We have the key. There is a small repair to the right hand side of the false lock escutcheon which allows the lock to operate. The left hand side of the top has some small veneer nibbles to the rear bottom corner. There are three areas of loss, two being 1 cm square and the one at the rear approximately 4 cm square. The right hand side has three small veneer losses at the bottom edge, one approximately 2 cm square, another 1 cm square and a smaller one. There is a more substantial loss to the timber right at the very back of the top section at the bottom right hand corner against the wall. Both sides of the bottom half are in good condition with no issues. The feet and bottom apron are all original and in good order. Above the top right hand drawers there is an old small slither of veneer missing in front of the circular pillar running for approximately 18 cm. The top two drawers are in good order. The middle drawer has a veneer stress crack running across the centre of the drawer approximately 2 cm up from the bottom cockbead. The bottom drawer is in good order. The interior trays are all present.

CONDITION REPORT: The top of the chest is in generally good condition with only old surface marks and scuffs. The left hand brass corner bracket is rubbed through to the timber underneath. The top left hand drawer has a repair to the left hand corner and there is evidence of a further old repair along the top edge. The right hand drawer has a repair below the handle plate. The brass binding between the two drawers on the upper half is split. The sides of the upper half are scratched and scuffed and have small repairs along both bottom edges. The top drawer of the bottom half has a patch on the left hand side and there has been a further repair to the right hand bottom section of the drawer. The bottom drawer has had some small repairs and is a little discoloured. The sides of the base are quite badly marked and scuffed with some losses. The bottom moulding beneath the bottom drawer is discoloured, scuffed and marked. All legs are present but quite badly worn and scuffed. The backboards are original.

The crossbanded moulded edge is in generally good order with only one small 1 cm square veneer loss near the back of the piece on the right hand return. The sides of the chest are both in good order with no cracks. All drawer fronts are in good condition as is the cockbeading. The handles are later. The piece will have originally had knob handles. The base moulding and seat are original and in generally good condition with only minor surface scuffs & scratches. The backboards are original.
A George III mahogany chest of drawers, with moulded edge above two short and three long graduated drawers with brass drop handles and cockbeading to each drawer front and raised on ogee bracket feet. Width 90 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Height 82.5 cm, depth 49.5 cm, width 90.5 cm. The top is flat and in generally good order. There are various old veneer stress fractures none of which are in our opinion significant. The moulded edge is original and in good condition. The top left hand drawer has a small section of cockbeading partially missing. Drawers two, three & four also have small old nibbles to the edges of the cockbeading but no significant losses. The handles appear to be original. The drawer fronts are all in good condition and of good colour. A George III Lancashire mahogany and crossbanded chest of drawers, with two short and three long drawers with brass drop handles with pierced backplates and cockbeading to each drawer front. Width 111 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Height 86 cm, depth 55 cm, width 110 cm. The top is flat and has no splits. It does have numerous scratches, scuffs and watermarks. The crossbanded edge is in good condition at the front but the left hand canted mould on both sides is loose. There is also a crack to the top of the rear of the right hand return moulding and some small timber losses. The sides of the chest are in generally good condition. The right hand side has a slight split down one plank join. The handles are later replacements. The piece will have originally have had brass swans neck drop handles. These were converted to knob handles at some point and the pierced backplates now covers the knob handle holes. The cockbeading on the top two drawers is in generally good condition. Drawer three has a missing section to the left hand side and some water staining. Drawer four has small nibbles to the cockbeading. The plinth moulding is in good condition. The back of the chest has been replaced with a hardboard panel. The bracket feet are original and solid but appear to have been reduced in height.
A George III oak longcase clock by W. Shephard of Millom, with thirty hour movement and date aperture, the oak case raised on bracket feet. Height 215 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The cornice and hood are in generally good original condition with no damage, no repairs and no restoration. The door is not warped. There are traces of very old long gone woodworm which in our opinion is not significant. The seatboard is original and in our opinion the clock is not a marriage. The movement is very dirty but does strike when advanced to the hour. The feather on the pendulum is the wrong length. With the pendulum removed and weight applied to the movement the clock does appear to tick. The movement is however extremely dirty. The trunk door is not warped but does have a crack running down the centre join which should be visible from our image. The moulding beneath the trunk door is detached on the left hand side but we have the piece. The front edge of the waist moulding has some losses and damage. The sides of the base appear to be original. The front board is probably original but does have this strange diamond shape pendant to the front which is probably a later addition. The bracket feet are old but probably later replacements.
A George III Scottish oak longcase clock by Pettygrew of Edinburgh, with swans neck pediment, arched silvered brass dial with subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture and two-train striking movement. Height 215 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: We have both weights and pendulum. The clock appears to be ticking as it should. It also appears to be striking. The dial is in generally good condition with only minor tarnishing to the silvering. The movement is a little dirty but as stated appears to be operating. The case and movement are not a marriage. The hood is in generally good condition with only minor stress fractures to the timber. All glass is present and correct. The brasswork is dirty and tarnished. The trunk door is not warped and we have the lock and key. The sides of the case are in good condition as is the base. The base moulding around the bottom of the case may be later. The left hand front foot bracket is missing. The backboards are original.
A George III mahogany bowfronted chest of drawers, crossbanded and inlaid and with two short and three long graduated drawers with brass drop handles and raised on bracket feet. Width 100 cm. A George III oak longcase clock, with swans neck pediment above the arched painted dial with eight day striking movement, flanked by fluted columns and with long trunk door and raised on bracket feet. Height 210 cm. CONDITION REPORT: We have a pendulum but no weights. The dial is in need of restoration. There are no significant paint losses however the dial is dirty and allover crazed and much of the writing and numerals are rubbed. The minute hand is half missing. The movement is filthy but appears to be complete. The seatboard is original and we do not think that the piece is a marriage. The case itself is extremely dry and has a matt finish as if all the original polish has perished. It may simply have been stripped. The hood is in generally good condition with no major issues other than minor veneer losses, scratches and scuffs. The trunk door is not warped. The sides of the case are in good condition as is the base generally. There is a stress crack down the centre of the base itself between the joins. The plinth is likely to be a later replacement and the clock will probably have had bracket feet. The backboards are original.
An early 19th century mahogany wardrobe, with moulded dentil cornice above a single door with panels and applied mouldings opening to hanging space and a drawer and all raised on bracket feet. Width 53 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The wardrobe is in generally reasonable condition. The cornice is in good order with only minor surface scuffs and blemishes. Height 220 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock hood is in generally very good condition with no issues. The dial is in good order. The subsidiary seconds hand is missing. We have not had the clock going however if weight is applied to both suspensions the clock does tick and strike. The seatboard is original. It is however warped and has a piece of packing on the left hand side. In our opinion the clock is not a marriage. We currently do not have the weights and pendulum however the vendor is bringing them to the saleroom this week. The trunk door is in good condition and not warped. It is a good colour as is the case in general. There are no issues with the trunk, sides or feet which are all in good order with only minor surface scuffs and scratches as one might expect. The colour of the case is generally very good. We do not have a key for either door.
