A George III silver circular salver by Elizabeth Jones, London 1786, with a foliate and scroll chased broad band, a plain incurve and a beaded rim, on bead outlined bracket feet, 35.5cm (14in) diameter, 1195g (38.45 oz). Elizabeth Jones, presumably the widow of Joseph? Jones, who entered her mark in January 1783 and specialised in salvers and trays.
A matched Victorian Scottish silver octagonal baluster four piece tea and coffee service, maker`s mark `JM` (unknown), Glasgow 1857 (the tea pot 1858), the tea and coffee pots with baluster finials to the domed covers, cast scroll rims and engraved with foliage, scrolls and porticoes, on scroll bracket feet, engraved with a lion rampant crest and a motto `Yield Not In Misfortune` and a half man crest and a motto `This I`ll Defend`, the tea pot 23cm (9in) long, the coffee pot 27cm (10 1/2in) high, 2617g (84.15 oz) gross. The second crest is for MACFARLAN of that ilk and of Arroquhar, Dumbartonshire.
A good early 20th century continental rosewood and floral marquetry inlaid cylinder bureau the gilt metal mounted gallery top bearing an agate style inset, above a hinged fall enclosing a fitted interior and sliding writing surface, over three graduated drawers with a longer drawer underneath, all with gilt metal escutcheons, shaped apron undertier bearing a gilt metal foliate bracket, raised on cabriole legs and gilt metal sabots. 106.5cm high x 91.5cm wide
A late 19th century mahogany and brass inlaid bracket clock, having a reeded caddy top, the silvered circular dial signed Manoah Rhodes & Sons Ltd of Bradford, twin winding holes for a chain driven eight day fusee movement with anchor escapement and striking on a gong, the case having pierced fretwork side panels and all raised on brass ball feet, h.50cm.
An early 19th century mahogany and flame mahogany secretaire bookcase, the upper section having twin astragal glazed doors with shelved interior, the base fitted with secretaire drawer over three further long graduated drawers with oval brass plate handles, on bracket supports, h.234cm, w.124cm, d.56cm.
An early 18th century and later walnut escritoire, having a blind frieze glove drawer above a fall-front with feather and crossbanding, opening to reveal well-fitted interior, the base fitted two short and two long graduated drawers on bracket feet, the whole with significant restoration, h.174cm, w.113cm, d.53cm.
